Leisure Travel up for 2017 in the US

We're certainly seeing it in all of our SkyRun locations!  More and more people are traveling for leisure.   A study released by Phocuswright today says that in 2016, leisure travel in the US DROPPED by 6% for the first time since 2011.  The causes listed were financial concerns and worries about terrorism in the lead-up to the US election last year.

But their outlook for 2017 is optimistic.

With the number of people using vacation rentals more than doubling in the last 3 years (http://www.phocuswright.com/Travel-Research/Rentals-Rising-The-State-of-Private-Accommodation-in-U-S-Travel), we are not seeing any decline in sight in people that travel and stay in a vacation home.  Travel to our 600 properties in our 25 SkyRun locations, have increased over 40% annually in EACH of the last 5 years.  that's over 500% growth total in the last 5 years.

With Americans being notoriously bad for giving up over 1/2 of their paid vacation time on average (http://www.marketwatch.com/story/55-of-american-workers-dont-take-all-their-paid-vacation-2016-06-15), we are very happy that more and more of you are able to take time off to be with family and friends and use a vacation home for their Leisure Travel.
