Let's Talk!

Fishing

The fish bite year-round at Lake Travis! Cast a line in the spring and fall for largemouth and smallmouth bass and try your hand at catching catfish, white bass, and striper in the spring and early summer months. Boat out to the deeper parts of the lake, cast a line from the shore, or fly fish from a lucky spot. Boat rentals and boat slips get you out on the lake or book a fishing charter with a pro  to keep your energy focused on snagging the biggest catch.

Boating

Rent a fast boat for amped-up fun, charter a yacht for elevated entertainment, or if you have a large group, consider a party barge. These double-decker floating palaces offer floats, grills tables, and bathrooms–did we mention the tube slides? Regardless of whether you bring your own boat or rent a decked-out craft, Lake Travis has no shortage of on-water offerings.

Spas and Wellness

After a day of jet skiing or hiking through one of Lake Travis’ parks, pamper those muscles with one of the area’s spas. Both resort and day spas offer the full scale of body treatments aimed at promoting total wellness and relaxation. Book a high-end spa day at sites like The Resort at Lake Travis or Lakeway for a total immersive experience.

Tours

Let the experts do the heavy lifting, no matter the kind of tour you crave. Party boats make fun on the water a no brainer and party cruises mean the more, the merrier. Lower-key boat rentals offer the chance to fish, swim, and relax. Maybe sailing is on your list, and Lake Travis’ winds and outfitters make that dream a reality. Get off the lake and into the air with helicopter tours that traverse the beauty of Texas Hill Country. From planes, boats, and yes, wine tours, pick an excursion to unwind or amplify the fun.

Dining and Entertainment

Why choose one stop when you can imbibe along the whole lake? The Lake Travis Pub Crawl stops for sips at seven of the area’s top spots, all with slips for in-and-out ease. Proving everything is, in fact, bigger in Texas, The Oasis Lake Travis proffers up more than 30,000 square feet of space–no shock that this is Texas/ largest outdoor restaurant. Perched 450 feet above Lake Travis, The Oasis is a must-experience stop. Captain Pete’s Boathouse actually floats on the lake and serves up salads, taco, and customized hot dogs. From BBQ to steaks to pizza to international cuisine, Lake Travis’s eateries make sure that the options are almost endless. Wine lover, be sure to tour the area’s vineyards to sample some of the best Texas vintages.

Golfing

Tee off at Lago Vista and watch the ball soar against a backdrop of green trees and the azure waters of Lake Travis. Beef up your game with a lesson or book a tee time for a relaxed outing at Port Venture Golf Club, a nine-hole course named one of the best in Texas by the Dallas Morning News. The Lakeway Resort and Spa lets golfers choose from four public courses to customize the experience.

Water and Land Adventures

Scuba diving in the middle of Texas? It’s possible at Lake Travis. Charter a scuba boat to explore the lake’s depths. If you prefer your water adventures atop the lake, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and canoeing offer ways to take in the Texas sun and fun. Kids and kids-at-heart delight at water parks like Beachside Billy’s and Waterloo Adventures, which also features a challenge course, and Water Monkey’s floating park. If staying on land takes priority, explore the Texas Hill Country at one of Lake Travis’ parks. Maybe taking your day to new heights is on the bill–you can soar along the treetops when you zipline high above the lake’s waters.

Museums

History, art, and culture merge in Texas’ capital. Take a tour of the LBJ Presidential Library and Museum. Bask in humanity’s creativity at UT Austin’s Blanton Museum’s Latin American modern art. Umlauf Sculpture Garden and Museum demands that you not only see but also touch the outdoor sculptures surrounded by shady trees and lush gardens.
