The ski season may be over, but summer festivities are just starting up in the mountains. From Keystone festivals, the Dillon summer concert series, farmers markets, and many other warm-weather activities; this summer will be one for the books. Read on to find out more about the most popular summer events taking place right here in the Rocky Mountains. Keystone has one of the most active summer schedules in Summit County. Their summer festivals draw people to the mountains for a relaxing, fun-filled weekend every week starting on June 23. The first festival will be June 23rd and June 24th celebrating bacon and bourbon. Enjoy unique dishes featuring bacon and live music performances with your friends and family for the 8th year of this festival. Perhaps one of the most popular festivals in Keystone is the Wine and Jazz festival. This festival features more than 300 different varieties of wine at tents throughout River Run Village with relaxing jazz playing from the music stage. Plus, enjoy wine seminars to further your knowledge on the process of creating a gorgeous wine. Toward the end of summer the festivals include the Art Festival, Bluegrass & Beer, Mountain Town Music Festival, and Oktoberfest. All festivals are held in River Run village on Saturdays and Sundays of the given week. Just fifteen minutes from Keystone, Dillon also has some exciting things to do this summer. Take a stroll through the Dillon Farmer’s Market to find some of the freshest produce as well as unique, one-of-a-kind merchandise ranging from clothing and jewelry to art. There will also be live music performances, family entertainment, and a free yoga class. The Farmer’s Market is open every Friday starting mid-June and ending in September. The Dillon Amphitheatre will be offering free outdoor yoga classes every Saturday morning. End your Saturday with a nice outdoor concert here as well. Located right on the lake, the newly renovated Amphitheatre features a large stage looking over gorgeous outdoor seating. There are also picnic tables, a fireplace, and a playground just above the Amphitheatre stage and seating. The Dillon Concert Series offers free concerts every Friday and Saturday night. Head over to the Dillon Marina to rent a boat for the day or to check out the Tiki Bar & Restaurant. The Tiki Bar is open from 11:30 am to sunset every day and is located right on the lake. Enjoy a beachside drink during their happy hour as you relax from a long day of summer activities. Lake Dillon spans over 5 miles of mountain landscape and has plenty to be explored. You can rent a sail boat, stand-up paddle board, kayak, and more to take out onto the lake. If you don’t feel like learning how to sail, there are also boat tours available for booking. Aside from all of the fun and interesting activities going on during the summer, there are an abundance of relaxing hikes or bike trails to take advantage of as well.
