Winter Park offers a plethora of hiking trails, ranging from family-friendly hikes to intermediate to fairly challenging. For an easier hike with lovely scenery, opt for the Fraser River Trail. On the other end of the spectrum is Byers Peak, a nine-mile round trip hike that takes you to the summit of its namesake.

Winter Park is surrounded by thousands of miles of streams and rivers that are great for fishing. Most streams are shallow enough to wade in, making them perfect for fly fishing. Check out a guided fly fishing trip at Granby Lake or take a lesson to learn the basics. Be sure to get your Colorado fishing license before your trip.
