But it's not just winter magic here; this cabin boasts year-round appeal. The home is located on Mt. Bross, and with other epic Colorado 14ers like Mt. Quandary, Mt. Lincoln, Mt. Bierstadt, and the DeCaliBron 14er loop nearby, you'll find some of Colorado's best high-alpine hikes waiting for you to explore.

Surrounded by serene aspen groves and lodgepole pines, High Altitude Haven seamlessly merges indoor and outdoor living. Step onto the spacious main deck,  private gas grill, and outdoor dining area, to bask in the pristine mountain air and soak in the beauty that surrounds you.

For those traveling with furry companions, we've got you covered! Our dog-friendly cabin welcomes up to 2 well-behaved dogs for an additional nightly pet fee, ensuring that your four-legged friends can enjoy the mountain adventure too.

At over 10,000 feet in elevation, the night skies here are nothing short of spectacular! Prepare for some awe-inspiring dark-sky stargazing and impromptu meteor showers.

Please note that while the elevation adds to the charm, there are also multiple stairs throughout the home, including to the main entry point, which may pose challenges for individuals with certain medical conditions.

Did we already mention that this home is located at 10,000 ft on rural mountain roads? In the Colorado High Rockies, we can expect consistent snowfall October through May. At this elevation, you may even see snow in June & July on occasion! The main access road, Quartzville Rd, is maintained by the county and is regularly plowed after each snowfall and the driveway will be plowed if it snows over 4 inches, but having an AWD/4x4 vehicle is required in winter and recommended year-round for this home.

PARKING INFORMATION:
For a smooth and stress-free stay, please follow all posted signs and parking regulations in Breckenridge, as enforcement is strict. If you need additional parking, the Town of Breckenridge offers paid overnight options in two convenient locations: 1) south of town at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena, and 2) north of town at the Airport Road satellite lot, which also accommodates RVs and trailers.

COLORADO TRACTION LAW:
From September through May 31, the Colorado Traction Law is in effect for all drivers traveling on I-70 between Morrison and Dotsero as well as US-285 to Breckenridge. This law mandates that vehicles must be equipped with either four-wheel or all-wheel drive and snow-rated or mud + snow tires. Alternatively, vehicles with two-wheel drive must have winter tires, chains, or other traction devices. Ensuring your vehicle is properly equipped is essential for safe winter driving in Colorado. If you’re renting a car, be sure to confirm with your rental company that your vehicle meets these requirements.

IMPORTANT WINTER ADVISORY:
Please be aware that during the winter months, roads and driveways are likely to be snow-covered or icy, making four-wheel drive (4WD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) essential for safe travel. We are unable to offer refunds for vehicles that get stuck or require towing, and unfortunately, we cannot assist with towing or vehicle recovery. Additionally, some properties may require 4WD or AWD even during non-winter months due to uneven terrain and dirt roads.
