Beaches Things to Do Check-In Instructions Property Damage Waiver Travel Insurance Ormond BeachEscape Daytona Beach’s high energy and exhale at Ormond Beach. The sand’s reddish hue comes from the sea’s pounding of shells, but fear not–this is a spot where the vibe is nothing but relaxed. Stroll the Main Street District’s galleries and boutiques after a day spent exploring natural wonders like the Ormond Scenic Loop and Trail, Tomoka State Park, or the Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens. Beaches and nature meet arts and culture in Daytona Beach’s lower-key neighbor. New Smyrna BeachThe name New Smyrna Beach might be a little off track for this decidedly Old Florida escape. NSB’s abundant paths and sidewalks make this a walker’s paradise, and good news–leash up your pup so he can explore this very pet-friendly place. Walk Flagler Avenue and go straight from the river to the beach, popping into the shops and eateries along the way. Canal Street’s galleries let you soak in as much creativity as the sun. Don’t leave NSB without a visit to Smyrna Dunes Park where two miles of raised boardwalk let you meander through sand dunes to spy views of the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse. Close to Daytona Beach’s buzz but far enough away to exhale, Ponce Inlet means the best of all worlds. Daytona Beach ShoresLaid back but not sleepy, Daytona Beach Shores serves up plenty of beach vibes with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean but also tempts anglers to find the best fishing spots along the Halifax River. Walk the beach and hit favorite spots like Sunglow Pier or practice your short game at Oceans Golf Club. After a tough day of maximum relaxation, take your dinner on the water at Crabby Joe’s, where you can feast on the freshest catch 400 feet into the Atlantic. Close enough to Daytona Beach’s shine but far enough away to exhale, Daytona Beach Shores might move to the top of vacation favorites list. Daytona BeachCan we claim that Daytona Beach is Florida’s most iconic waterway? With miles of sand and the Daytona Beach Boardwalk and Pier, plus a vibe that sizzles, Daytona Beach earned its reputation. The beach’s hard-packed sand allows driving and parking on certain sections. Book a parasailing tour for a bird’s-eye view or take part in water sports or maybe just plant a chair and listen to the waves. Fishing Cast a line off the side of a deep-sea charter, explore the lakes dotting Ponce Inlet, or head inland to hit the river. Curate the ultimate fishing escape in and around Ponce Inlet. Inshore fishing means the Halifax River and Ponce Inlet where you can fill your bucket with flounder, trout, and snapper. Head to the ocean and cast a line from one of the beach’s piers to snag sharks and pompano. Go deep offshore to score big catches like king mackerel, tuna, and mahi mahi. GolfingFlorida’s reputation as one of golf’s premier destinations makes Ponce Inlet a top-tier stop to practice your swing. Check out one of the public courses like Cypress Head Golf Club, The Preserve at Turnbull Bay, and Crane Lakes Golf & Country Club, which all serve up their own take on the game. Check out these and the many other courses where the Florida sunshine means year-round play. Ponce Preserve ParkGo from ocean to riverside when you traverse the 41 acres of Ponce Preserve Park. Birdwatch along this stretch of the state’s Great Florida Birding Trail and explore the boardwalks that make excellent outposts for spying all kinds of wildlife. The park’s two miles of trails draw nature enthusiasts and fitness fans, but there’s a little something for the budding archaeologists, too. The Green Mound State Archaeological Site is one of the biggest ancient Native American middens, or mounds. DiningSeafood fans, rejoice! Ponce Inlet’s location by the ocean and river mean plates overflow with the best catches. Down the Hatch Seafood is a favorite stop for seafood, steaks, and sizzling live music, all served up waterside. Sip cocktails next to the lighthouse at Hidden Treasure Rum Bar & Grill. Don’t forget to book a reservation at Boondocks Restaurant for a casual bite and have a bite with a side of racing history at North Turn Beach Bar and Grille where you can savor your meal directly where racing in Daytona began. Marine Science CenterDrive just south to Ponce Inlet to learn about what’s happening under the sea at the Marine Science Center. Get up close and learn about the efforts to save sea turtles and seabirds at the rehabilitation center. Plenty of aquariums teem with hundreds of kinds of fish and even feel the gills and fins when you dip your hand in the touch tank. Add on the elevated nature trail winding its way though the Florida landscape and see why this spot beckons sea-lovers and landlubbers Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS)Dolphin and Art enthusiasts flock to the Museum of Arts & Sciences (MOAS). This Smithsonian affiliate showcases the Cuban Foundation Museum where you can see one of the world’s biggest displays of the island’s creativity outside of Cuba. Kids (and kids at heart) can get hands-on at the interactive Tinsley Family Children’s Museum and all ages can walk back through time at the Natural History displays. For the Sports Fans It’s hard to know if the beach or the Daytona International Speedway is the number one draw. It is, after all, the “Motorsports Capital of the World” with the home of the Daytona 500, the Daytona International Speedway (DIS), vying for top attraction. Take a guided tour and then book time at the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America (MSHFA). Another claim to fame is Ponce Inlet’s role in integrating baseball. Legend Jackie Robinson is honored at the Jackie Robinson Ballpark and Statue, paying homage to Major League Baseball’s first integrated game during 1946 spring training. Disappearing IslandNestled in between Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sandbar that only appears at low tide. While this might be a bit of hyperbole, it’s no exaggeration that when high tide comes in, the island disappears completely. But when it’s low tide, the sandbar pops with boaters, revelers, and beachlovers looking to spend time at this unique stretch of beach. Check tide tables to see when the island literally will appear during your stay. Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse & MuseumFun facts about the Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse: it’s the tallest lighthouse in Florida, towering above the ocean at 175 feet. Pack your sneakers because with 203 steps to the top, the huffing and puffing culminate in unbeatable vistas of the Atlantic, Intracoastal Waterway, and miles of Florida beauty. Another fact? The lighthouse’s original name was Mosquito Inlet Lighthouse, perhaps a nod to the state’s unofficial insect. Explore the lighthouse and its history at the museum complex where maritime history shines as brightly as the beacon pulling sailors safely to shore. Property Damage Waiver Enjoy peace-of-mind with our incidental damage protection. SkyRun includes a property damage protection waiver on each reservation. The damage waiver covers damage to the property up to $1,500 so long as the damage is accidental and reported to SkyRun prior to your departure. It does not cover damage that is willful, the result of negligence, or damaged caused by the misuse of household items. It also doesn’t cover unreported damage. SkyRun doesn’t charge our guests a refundable damage deposit in lieu of the waiver. Unlike a refundable damage deposit, the damage protection waiver is nonrefundable. Should the cost of the damage exceed $1,500 or does not meet the criteria for a “covered loss”, and the property owner’s insurance policy also does not cover the loss, then you shall be responsible for the full amount of the damage which will be charged to the credit card on file. Coverage is provided to you and all travelling companions that are staying in the home overnight during your stay. Coverage is not provided for loss due to: Your intentional acts or gross negligence.
