Bear House is the perfect family retreat for large groups of people. Nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Estes Park, this home provides ample lodging for up to 12 people.

This 5 bedroom, 4 full bath home is located in a beautiful, mountainous neighborhood at the base of what is known as 'Old Man Mountain'. This home is less than a mile to the west end of downtown Estes Park where you can pick up the river walk trail that goes through downtown all the way to and around Lake Estes. It is also close to the north entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park. The interior of the house has been completely remodeled. It has all-new cabinets with stone tile countertops, all new appliances, all new tile, fixtures, and faucets in the bathrooms, and new bedroom carpet, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Besides being very tasteful, with all of the amenities you will need, this home has a warm, cozy, mountain feel to it. The property has a private hot tub that seats 6 people, has 38 jets, underwater lights, bucket seats, foot jet and a lounge. You will also enjoy air-conditioning during the summer - another perk that makes this home perfect for your next vacation! All around the property are mature ponderosa pine trees and some truly amazing rock formations that provide wonderful privacy, play and family photos. The deck on the back side of the house is surrounded by rocks and trees and invites a peaceful, quiet outdoor living experience. Old Man Mountain is a popular hiking area close to downtown Estes Park. It is one of the oldest and largest sacred Native American sites in Colorado. The area has many sloping rock walls and ledges, which offer access to the top. The view of the Estes Valley is well worth the hike/climb.You are bound to see wildlife while in Estes, and there's a great chance you will see elk, deer and even wild turkey around the property. Very comfortable for 4 couples. Easy access to downtown Estes, Stanley Hotel, Rocky Mountain National Park. Greeted by a bobcat right outside the dining room window during our first breakfast! Would stay again.

Our family enjoyed this home & had THE BEST time! The kids enjoyed the in-yard rock climbing experience as well as the ping pong table in the garage and other games available in the house. The kitchen was great & well-stocked. We enjoyed the grill & the many condiments/seasonings available to cook with. While we did not walk to the shopping district due to the age of kids in our family, it is very walkable & the downtown shopping & restaurant district was fun for all. It had EVERYTHING! We had an easy drive to Rocky Mountain National Park despite warnings of traffic & construction. Our family would definitely stay at Bear House again! And thank you to the customer service rep who stayed on the phone with me while the door code was reprogrammed. I appreciated that you made sure we got into the house ok.

Was a nice place in a neighborhood with massive construction on the way in. Was told it was quiet, it was not. It's 8 min from RMNP entrance, they wouldn't give us that info. The AC didn't work well upstairs while downstairs it made the living areas freezing. We would stay here again but felt I should share these things.

Thank you for your review. The town is doing road construction on the streets this summer and Elkhorn Lodge is being renovated. You cannot see or hear any of the construction from this home. The neighbors behind are doing some work but the noise is currently minimal and only during the day. This home is in a quiet Estes Park neighborhood but just like your town and your neighborhood there will be temporary construction from time to time. We did not refuse to give you the information about the distance to RMNP, unfortunately we did miss your message. I apologize for that. I will check on the AC situation, it may be as simple as adjusting the vents.This is a beautiful home, a great place for families to get together. A great place to make memories!

Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for twelve people. The kids (ages 8 to 13) loved the hot tub,ping pong table, foosball, and air hockey. The kitchen was well stocked and a second refrigerator in garage was helpful with all 12 people in the house. Great location. Quick access to RMNP through Fall River entrance. Not a bad walk to downtown Estes Park.

Family adventure near RMNP

Bear House was the perfect place to host our kids and two grandkids for a long weekend in Estes Park. The kitchen was nicely equipped for family meals and the house provided enough room to spread out when anyone needed a break. Bear house is very close to one of the entrances to the park so made it easy. Being outside of the busy downtown area was a plus.

Great place for a large group. The location was easy to walk to town and there was a clean hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked too. One complaint is very high cleaning fee for only a two night stay.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The 'cleaning fee' is all the fees lumped together and is based on the size of the home and time it takes to clean not the length of stay. These fees go to the people who work hard to clean the entire 5 bedroom 4 bath house whether a guest stays two night or two weeks. We would love to host you again.

We had a nice stay at this place in December. It was nice and snowy, but still easy to get too. Very convenient to Estes downtown and Rocky Mountain National Park. Pictures are good representation of the rental. Pros- the game options were a great way to spend some time, especially for the older kids- the hot tub was clean and very relaxing on a cold night. The hot tub instructions were clear and appreciated the added chlorine - rooms and kitchens were well cleaned - wild turkeys visited us daily Cons- the lower level gets super cold and the upper level gets hot. - more blankets (see above) are needed and additional changes of sheets would be nice in case of emergency/sickness- the tvs are impossible to figure out, remotes in a big pile in living room, no sound on two tvs - had to go buy a can opener as it was broken- room for 12, but not 12 hot tub towels

I rented this house for a group of fundraiser riding the Ride the Rockies cycling event that came through Estes. The house was large, clean, and perfect for our group. We only stayed two nights, though we would have been easily comfortable staying here for an extended stay or returning for a future stay!

Perfect for a multi family vacation

Great location, activities for teenagers to do, multiple living rooms - perfect for our family. Very clean with plenty of towels.The kitchen was nice with 2 nice sets of dishes, plenty of glasses & silverware organized well. Cookware could use an update making it functional for large groups (only had 2 small skillets). Cabinets were full of other items that were outdated or very heavy, needing to be reorganized and updated.

Perfect for a group!

Our group of six rented Bear House for an extended weekend, and it was perfect. Lots of space to spread out, comfy beds, great location and access to both the town and RMNP. The check-in process was easy. During morning walks just around the neighborhood we were met by deer and wild turkeys. We enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub after hiking and though we didn't cook much there (opting to dine at our favorite restaurants while in town - Ed's Cantina, Claire's, and Notchtop), I can't imagine there wouldn't be everything you need for full meals. One thing to note about the house - it is a split level, and there are a lot of stairs, both inside and out. One in our group has mobility issues but was able to enter at the driveway level and took a bedroom on that level, but still needed to come up two flights of stairs to get to the kitchen and family room. Not having issues that way I would not have given it a second thought. There are several decks that would be fabulous in the warmer months. The location was a little less secluded than I thought it would be, but we still saw wildlife and the location was super convenient. One of the best things (besides the hot tub and the general accommodations) was that it was CLEAN. That's super important to us when we travel. We also loved that there were two loveseats in the kitchen along with the bar seating and a large dining table. Everyone hangs out in the kitchen any, why not put in more seating! A couple of us had a great hike up Glacier Gorge Trailhead in RMNP to Alberta Falls and then on to Mills Lake. The wind in the parking lot was gusting like mad, but once we were in the trees it was a wonderful hike with just some short stretches of wind higher up approaching Mills Lake. Snowshoes may have been easier up high, but for most of the trail, only spikes are needed. We would definitely rent here again!

This house is great! Worked well for our group because there were plenty of common spaces to use and spread out in for alone time or playing board games. The kitchen was well stocked - the only thing missing was something to zest lemons for our pie. Hot tub worked great and the abundance of towels was a big plus. Wed love to come back.

A great get-away!

We had a wonderful stay at Bear House! My brother, his wife and two daughters (17, 19) flew here from South Carolina. My family included me, my husband and our two sons (25, 28). The photos were pretty accurate although the bedrooms and common areas were a bit smaller than expected since photos are wide-angle. The kitchen was well stocked and we prepared a lot of meals. The lower level of the home was about 20 degrees colder in the lower level. Its very close to downtown Estes. From our experience there, it would be an ideal space for up to 6 adults. I would absolutely stay at Bear House again! Id love to spend time there in the summer or fall!

Beautiful home, with space for everyone!

We stayed here with 4 adults and 5 children, ages 3-15, and there was more than enough room for everyone! The littler ones very much enjoyed the bunk beds, while the older ones enjoyed a room of their own! The parents appreciated the kids on the bottom floor, so we could stay up later and enjoying cooking and games. The kitchen and all bathrooms are very nicely equipped, and the home is decorated perfectly as a mountain cabin retreat. No details have been missed in this beautiful home, we will definitely be back!!!

Wedding Gathering

My extended family and I stayed at the Bear House for my niece's wedding. We were thoroughly impressed with the property. It is a very clean, spacious, and centrally located home. It's less than 5 minutes from "downtown" Estes Park and 10 -15 minutes from RMNP. The game room and hot tub were added bonuses. I highly recommend this vacation rental!

The wonder of Natures own

We enjoyed our time here very much. Just one thing was not satisfactory - the jacuzzi, the water was too low and it was not clean. One of the hinge bars to the lid was broken.

We loved it!!

We absolutely loved bear house! It was exactly what we needed for 2 families with 5 kids total. The kids loved all the games and the hot tub! Great place!!!

A girls' trip morphed into just my husband and me staying at the Bear House for a week. While way too much house for just two people, it was absolutely wonderful. Comfortable bed, nice linens, well stocked kitchen, TVs everything, outdoor seating areas, nice living room furniture and lots of other thoughtful amenities. House is about 3/4 mile from west end of town near the water wheel via the river trail and less than 1/4 mile to the shuttle stop. Both of the main RMNP entrances are close and you have easy access to Wonderview to avoid downtown traffic. House is as advertised and we would highly recommend!

Wedding Stay in Estes

We were so pleased with our VRBO! We Were preparing for a wedding and had multiple family members, including an infant, and the house has everything we needed! There was room to spread out, a safety gate and high chair, plenty of amenities and very easy to get into! We even had excitement with a bear walking down the street as well as elk and turkey. We felt like we were truly in the wild in our own little space.

Great place for a group!

We had a great time staying at Bear House! The listing was exactly as described and was very clean and comfortable. It was also nicely stocked with kitchen supplies and spices, which was very helpful since we ate most of our meals at the house. Great family vacation home.

The kitchen was unbelievably well stocked with everything you need for cooking. Lots of games available. Hot tub was a bonus Great rock formations around property. Close to downtown. Wonderful family home for our group of 9.

Bear House

Great location, beautiful area!

The house was in a great area and within walking distance of a couple of hiking trails. Very clean and had plenty of room for our large group. It was less than 2 miles to downtown Estes. There were tons of wildlife. We saw an elk, deer, and bear and large cat prints in the snow. Something to note: the road leading to the cabin is a bit steep. Our friends could not make it up in the mini van, we were fine with 4x4 and good tires. The city did eventually plow the road and it was okay after that . Honestly, after being in Estes Park, I would recommend 4x4 especially in RMNP.

Getaway

Owners were super responsive and helpful. The house was perfect and very clean and nice in a quiet neighborhood and daily visits from turkey and elk! We had a great time and would absolutely stay here again!

Thanksgiving with the Family

Our stay at the Bear House was wonderful! The split levels gave the adults the opportunity to visit while the kids played games downstairs. I also loved drinking my morning coffee on the patio as I enjoyed watching the deer and wild turkey.

Post COVID Family reunion

We had a wonderful time at the bear house. It was cozy, well appointed, and in a great location. Only 10 miles to the entrance of Rocky Mount national Park, and about a 25 minute walk to the heart of downtown Estes Park. Our hosts were responsive and flexible, and treated us like valued members of their family. Highly recommend this property!

Family Vacation

Great property for our multi-generational family adventure. Nice quiet neighborhood a short drive from town. We watched deer, turkey from the deck and elk at the entrance to the neighborhood. The younger members of the family enjoyed walking to and hiking the nearby mountain. Rockies were magnificant! Brad was GREAT, very helpful.

Autumn in the Rockies

This home is exceptional! The mountain decor was beautiful. Plenty of bedrooms and baths for 3 families with all the paper supplies needed. A well stocked kitchen. The hot tub , ping pong table, and 2 other game tables gave kids and adults alike plenty of entertainment. TVs all rooms. The owners were prompt in responses and accommodating to our needs. I appreciated the clear instructions for the use of this wonderful home. We had an amazing visit!

Clean and well stocked

The house was very clean and well stocked. The communication with the owners was very good. We ended up only having 5 guests so it was more than spacious. We didnt use the hot tub so cant speak to that. The outdoor seating was nice but a little hot since it gets sun most of the day. From the description, I thought it would be within walking distance of downtown. It was an easy drive but I wouldnt say it was walkable for most. Overall it is a very nice rental in a nice quiet neighborhood close to everything you want to do in Estes.

Great property and location

Our stay here was exactly as we anticipated. It has ample room and bathrooms for adults and children. The property was clean and well supplied. The day we stayed at the house instead of adventuring into the park, was filled with plenty to do for the kids inside and outside. This home is 2 minutes from downtown and about 5 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park. We loved our stay here!
