Everything was well labeled and they had everything we needed to make a full Thanksgiving meal for our family. They had a good variety of board games, TV and the wifi worked well. The only downside to the cabin is it would be hard to access for anyone with limited mobility. To enter the main level of the cabin involves going up a long outdoor staircase which is very slippery if its snowing. Once inside the only way to access the 2 downstairs bedrooms is a very steep, thin spiral staircase. The sky was dark enough to see the stars and we saw elk, deer, and tons of birds all from the balcony. The location was perfect just a few miles from Rocky Mountain National Park entrance. And, we definitely look forward to returning.We did lose power on account of a nearby lightning strike during our first day. I can happily report that the management company does answer calls - no voicemail. Even better, they had a maintenance guy on property within ten minutes - and this was Memorial Day weekend! Fortunately, the power company restored power in 90 minutes. Next up, as a result of the power loss we lost our water supply. Again, the maintenance company promptly answered our call and re-dispatched the maintenance guy. After he re-primed our well water pump, our water was restored. In real life problems happen. I was truly impressed with the speed of response on a holiday weekend. We had a wonderful time. My wife, daughter, her husband, and her daughter all enjoyed this beautiful cabin. The cabin was excellently built. The surrounding area is beautiful, behind the cabin is excellent for hiking, and there is a great view of Longs Peak from the cabin. Rocky Mountain National Park is a couple of miles away. Broad spacious views of the Rockies, short drive into town, just an overall great weekend. Downstairs bedrooms had external private access, or a very tight spiral staircase from the living room area for internal access. We managed it pretty good, but if you had little ones, you may want to bring a gate to ensure they dont tumble down. Upstairs room is a whole floor to yourself and extremely comfortable. Exterior spaces were more than enough for our group. Iowa in the House Stayed Apr, 2022 Hidden Treasure Three couples made this a destination on our way back to Iowa from Denver. We stayed three days and Loved it. Very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Lots of room so we weren't tripping over ourselves. Extremely close to everything. Saw wildlife in the front yard! There are only two very minor suggestions. 1. make sure you bring a blow dryer if you use one. Luckily the Estes Park True Value was stocked. 2. There are no outside front lights. We left pretty early in the morning to head back and would have been nice to have a lit path down the steps. None of the suggestions would deter us from returning! gregory h. Rose Stayed Jun, 2021 A Mountain Dream Our stay at Bishops Retreat was phenomenal! Our family including children were very comfortable and loved the special additions of board games and books. The wrap around porch was my favorite we spent mornings and evenings there enjoying our coffee and beers. The backyard had a huge mountains we hiked up and took in some great views and photos. The bedrooms were perfect and bedding was nice. I also loved the washer and dryer room to get our laundry done before we departed. Stayed Apr, 2021 The perfect place This house was the centerpiece of our trip to RMNP. It was a fantastic place to return to after a day of activities. The view cant be captured in pictures, but it is an unobstructed, incredible, unique view only available in this neighborhood. Speaking of which, you are right across from the Beaver Meadows entrance to RMNP, and close to downtown and really close to a small supermarket and a few good restaurants. The house itself is exactly as represented in the write up. Its not brand new, but its beautiful inside and out. We were able to hike in the back yard and the view was even more incredible. I would recommend a king size bed upstairs! A few more blankets would have been nice (the spare blankets provided were not of the same quality as the other comfy quilts on the beds). Not a big deal, though. Great books everywhere! Check out the books in the study closet... Sunrise breakfast on the deck was - well, you just had to be there. It doesnt get any better than that gorgeous view! It was perfectly cozy and a perfect mountain cabin - the kids cant wait to go back! Tons of space.A few very minor things to note - theres a gorgeous fireplace though guests cant use it, which I get - it was a typical CO spring when we were there, so cold and lots of snow, and it wouldve been amazing to be able to use the fireplace. I was so excited when I saw it and was out to buy would when I read way deep in the renters guide that it wasnt for renter use. Second, the way the additions were built, you cant access the garage through any other part of the house except the separate stairway for the garage. I saw when a previous reviewer had mentioned not having a garage door opener as a downside, and I didnt understand why it was such a big deal until I got there, ha! (For what its worth, we parked in the garage because it snowed the whole time, so it was a great option to have). Anywho, without the garage door opener, the garage keypad code, or a key to the door by the garage, we had to pull up in the driveway, someone got out, ran up the stairs to the front door, unlocked the front door, ran across the house to the second staircase, ran downstairs, opened the garage. The views were spectacular, and while just outside of downtown, it felt very secluded. There is plenty of space to spread out and still be together. One minor inconvenience at check in. They gave us the door code, but didn't say which door and there were several. We parked by the garage on the lower level, but the door with the key pad was on the upper level on the other side of the house. Very Minor thing to happen, but would be nice to be able to access the cabin from the door by the garage. This house is a bit outdated but we didn't mind at all. It provided a sense of nostalgia for me. It reminded me of snow days spent at my Nana's growing up. So the outdatedness provided a sense of comfort in a way. The Views, Oh my goodness those views!!!! Nothing compares!!!! We actually got married right behind the cabin, the hills and rocks covered in snow directly behind the house provided the most perfect winter scene for our vows. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. The iron provided is pretty old, but gets the job done! Have I mentioned the views?!?! Amazing!! The neighborhood is also very quiet and feels semi-remote which was nice for getting out of the city. There is a great little hike right behind the house up the mountain backing the property.
