The location was ideal - downtown Estes and the riverwalk were only a 5 minute walk away but the house's position on top of a hill provided gorgeous views and a decent amount of privacy. Wildlife made a couple of appearances - 2 female elk actually came up right to the window! If I had to list any cons, the beds could have been a bit more comfortable and the upstairs bedroom got a bit warm compared to the rest of the house. Overall, amazing home and amazing experience! The only thing that bothered us is how close the other houses are and the outside lights from those houses; not only hamper the beautiful night sky view but also shines inside the house. Skyrun was kind enough to put up some temporary shades on the windows the next day so we can sleep. They were happy to reschedule us. When I was better my wife and I went up to Estes. We did not have our adult children due to rescheduling. We were very pleased with the quaint cabin. It was large for two but we enjoyed the wonderful setting and the personal touch of the previous owner. We have traveled the world some but the wall map of the world with pins was an amazing sight. Small shower upstairs but Im a fairly small guy - under 175 lbs and 6 tall. I think itd be problematic for anyone much bigger than me. Loved the fact that we could walk to the main street in under five minutes. Also literally 10 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.. These accommodations are perfect for those looking for a good sleep for hiking and easy access to food and entertainment downtown. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishes (we cook while on vacation), nice bathrooms and homey living areas. We loved the views from EVERY direction - mountains on all sides, and a view of the town to include the Stanley! We considered staying further out toward RMNP, but it was a plus being in town close to shopping, groceries, restaurants, etc. Our mountain experience was not diminished (thanks in part to a late-season snow), and we had daily visits from bunnies, deer and elk. The park is only minutes away, so we had the best of both experiences. Estes Park has become a new favorite destination for my family, and we plan to go back in the future. Jennie Stayed Jan, 2022 Review We enjoyed a January trip to Estes Park and the home was exactly what we needed and wanted. We chose the property for the proximity to walking downtown but never chose to walk because we were there in the off-season and there was always plenty of parking available. Well, proximity and the "library" shown in the photos, but we're nerds. More on that later.This place was perfectly clean. Not one piece of dust anywhere. There is so much room to be close OR apart from the rest of your party. I would say the home also has some of the best views of any property in the area. I watched the sunrise and sunset daily from one of the multiple sitting areas. The home is older, but we LOVED it. There is so much culture, experience and history all throughout the house, it made our time inside enjoyable. Every place the home owner (or previous home owner?) visited, there were books and pieces of their visits all throughout the house highlighting their experiences. Super neat.Aside from all that, the queen bed on the 1st floor was the best bed I've ever slept on. Soft yet supportive. Personal preference thing for sure but it was a bonus for me.I can't say enough great things about this property.I only have one negative which does not warrant a reduction in stars because it is personal (Website hidden by Airbnb) is SO SO BRIGHT inside at night. The 360 views were amazing and we could have spent a lot more time just sitting on the porches. It was walking distance to downtown and a short drive to RMNP. We really enjoyed staying in this cozy, unique home. The studio above and its porch had an amazing view of the mountains, which could also be seen from the main floor bedrooms. Plenty of rocking chairs and a hammock to relax in. We wish the bedrooms had more than lace curtains - at night we changed in the bathroom, wondering if we would be seen by neighbors. But everything else was wonderful - the kitchen was well-supplied, the couches were plush, and there were board games and books a-plenty. The location is perfectly situated in the middle of Estes Park so you have easy access to shopping, Lake Estes, and all of the entrances/trail heads for the most popular hikes of Rocky Mountian National Park. There is plenty of room to spread out in the house. The kitchen has everything you need. There are multiple bathrooms/showers. The patio/grill area is very nice. It was an easy walk to downtown, but up a hill, so there was no noise from downtown. Having views in every direction was unexpected, but greatly appreciated. Especially having views of Longs Peak and the Stanley Hotel. It was an easy drive to RMNP. Weve stayed in cabins in Estes a few times, but this is definitely my favorite. This was one of the few places we found that had 3 bedrooms with bed sizes appropriate to adults. The location was perfect with a short walk down the hill to get into town. The views are also super - you can see mountains, the reservoir, the Stanley, and lots of stars off the upstairs bedroom at night. The cabinets were well stocked as well. Comfortable beds, kitchen has all of the cooking utensils, pots and pans, plates, glasses and coffee cups you would need. Walking distance to downtown Estes Park shopping and dining and a short drive to the Rocky Mountain Park entrance. Be carful of the bathroom door knob... it is pretty but it will fall off if you pull on it 😉 One suggestion I would make would be to put locks on the bathroom doors for privacy. The was very neat. Lots of interesting photos, books, and artifacts. House was very charming. There were a few maintenance items that we minor but would have earned the property 5 stars. There are two doors with handles but no latch, no thermostats for the up stairs which was 10-15 cooler than the rest of the house, and the was not a lot of extra TP as another reviewer had said. We visited Kind Coffee hop, Himalayan Curry & Kebab and The Barrel Pub. Highlight was taking awkward family photo inspired by family photo's on the wall. Kennedy Stayed Sep, 2018 Review Three of us flew to Denver and drove to Estes Park to celebrate our decade birthday milestone. We wanted the perfect place to avoid our different interests and lots of space for privacy. Places I recommend- Eds (Avocado Margs), Stanley, View, Nepal, Laura's Ice Cream... Edelweiss is Beautiful & full of Charm. Location is best in Estes.... Comfortable & Quirky- Loved every minute vikki b. Stayed Aug, 2018 Loved this cabin! All four of us loved our cabin. My husband and I and our two grown sons stayed for 3 nights. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Its close to Downtown and RMNP. We hiked every day in the park. Loved being able to grill steaks on the back porch. If you are looking for a comfortable place that is convenient - this is it. So much character. Tons of books! Very clean too. Thanks for sharing. vikki b. Stayed Aug, 2018 Quaint with character, great views and walkable to downtown Three generations stayed at this cottage full of character. The youngest kids enjoyed the loft space while the adults had plenary of quiet space downstairs. There was a grocery store, liquorstore & Starbucks just blocks away. A baby bunny kept us company while enjoying coffee on the porch. This charming house was comfortable and a hi-light of the trip. We went into the RMNP- Cascade Falls Bear Lake, Emerald Lake,Visitor Center, Sprauge Lake, had lots of food downtown and walking downtown. We tried Kind Coffee ,Indian Restaurant down the hill. Bob and Tony's Pizza.My favorite things were watching my kids play out back on the tire swing. Watching them get their Young Park Ranger badges. We loved the character of this cabin & the large lot for the kids to run! We had a great week. Beds Comfy- beautiful Views -3 nice afternoons - convenient area! The little apartment on the 2nd floor with a deck was perfect for our son and daughter-in-law. The house had plenty of comfy places to sit and relax, both outside and indoors, with a wonderful stone wood burning fireplace in the cozy living room. The location is on top of a hill with views of the lake and mountains. It's a short walk down the hill to the town.
