We appreciate the roaster for our Thanksgiving meal!Easy to go into the main town but if you dont want to there is an excellent small grocery store, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping within 2 minutes drive. We discovered a close by trail for our hikers in walking distance. We had a few items that needed attention. A person answered my calls immediately and sent someone within 10 minutes. There are 3 flights of stairs for the bedrooms so be prepared. We put oldest adults second level and youngest at the bottom, which works well with bunks there!I would highly recommend Estes Escapes! The bottom floor was great with a TV/game area, a double pull out couch, bathroom, and separate bedroom with bunk beds. Its in a pretty area as well.The parking was very tight for our group. The handle on the front screen door fell off repeatedly. We had two fireplaces, one in the master that didnt work. We booked so long ago that I would have thought it would be repaired by the time our trip came up.We could not find any instructions for the main fire place. Our son eventually got it to work on day 3. The four flights of stairs in the high altitude was a little tough so thats something to think of. Stayed Mar, 2023 Family spring break This was a great property for a large family. Plenty of room for everyone. The great room was spacious and beautiful. Plenty of seating and large table. There are lots of stairs. Just put the younger ones in lower levels. It is very well stocked. You dont need to bring any cooking supplies. The only problem we had was getting up the icy and snow covered hill. We only had one 4 wheel drive vehicle. We had to leave the other 3 vehicles down the hill. This house was amazing! So much space and great furnishings, decorating. This house is four levels, so a lot of stairs - but great for privacy between guests. We came from out of state, so we rented a van for our large family at the airport. The road this house is on isnt maintained, so we had to park at the bottom and walk, or shuttle with our 4WD guests. They had a furnace go out right before we checked in and they took action to quickly get it fixed. This was out of our control and they did try to minimize the disruption of our stay, so they get good credit for that. Check out has a strict time and some rules to follow. No biggie for our group but if youre looking to checkout late or try to just pack your things and leave, this is something to consider. Overall good place and good organization and would recommend for larger groups. Place has plenty of space and sleeping accommodations. Would recommend. Stayed Oct, 2022 Great House! Overall we were pleased and thought it was a nice place for the price. Upon arrival, we could not get the fireplace on and called for help. We never did hear back from anyone but were able to light the pilot on our own and get it up and running. The place definitely needs a couple of fixes like the oven door closes very hard, the trashcan foot pedal does not function, and the storm doors should probably be replaced to fit so that critters stop getting in - there are traps everywhere which leads to one to believe there is an issue. Also, would be helpful to highlight in the listing that it is 4 floors and there are no bedrooms on the main floor. There are a lot of stairs! Thankfully my 80yr. old mom was able to manage. One set of sheets had hairs on them, which could be an issue with the dryer, or perhaps they were not changed. Either way, a bit of quality control may help with the cleaning crew. The layout is really great for multiple families b/c of the bathrooms in each room. Also, the basement with bunks and game room would be super fun for families. We enjoyed the decorations, and all the effort and thought that went into naming the rooms, and making it feel cozy. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. Julie was able to transfer us to a different property, Bishops Retreat. It was amazing! At first we were disappointed that the soap and other toiletries were not left for us so we put led up some hand soap. We had the other toiletries. On our last day we discovered we were not smart and we had not opened the medicine chests in our bathrooms. Lol!!! Sure enough! It was all there. The place was spotless. We had a notification that the owners may have pets they bring to the property, but we sure couldnt tell! Beds were super comfortable. The views were amazing! Check in and out was very simple. Stayed Jan, 2022 Fabulous Say for our Extended Family Christmas This property is very large and easily accommodated our part of 10 adults and teens. The dining room table was so large that not only did we eat at it, we played gamed, and put together a jigsaw puzzle. It is a bit of an illusion when you walk through the door because the kitchen, dining, and living areas are on the main floor, and the bedrooms (and bunk room) begin on the first floor below, continue to the 2nd floor below, and end up with a game room and bunk room on the 3rd floor below the main living area. If you like ice, I would recommend bringing a bag of ice. The ice maker had a bit of a struggle keeping up with all of us filling water bottles each day! It afforded us a beautiful 4 days of snow for Christmas, and we loved the huge windows that capture the outside and bring it in. Thank you SkyRun Estes Park for making our Christmas so much fun! The home is very nice and continues to be kept clean and up to date. Even the carpet feels clean. We came with three other couples and all of our kids. With the four different levels, we were able to spread out, and the teens loved hanging out in the lower bedroom/game room. Our only complaint was the comfort of the beds - cushions/foam toppings would go a long way and the quality of the pillows could be much improved. If you are planning a stay when snow is a possibility, we recommend a 4x4 as the home is on a hill that can be challenging to get up and down when there is a lot of snow, but it also makes for amazing views from the back decks.
