Frontier Mountain Retreat is in the perfect location tucked away from the main road but only 2 miles to Rocky Mountain National Park and 2.5 miles to downtown Estes Park! This cute and cozy mountain retreat is the lower level of a private home with its own outside entrance on the front patio which makes it all yours. Enjoy the amazing view of Longs Peak! Sit outside with a cup of coffee in the morning as the sun lights up the peaks! I love watching the mountains wake up. At the end of the day relax and listen to the stillness of the evening take over. Snuggle up in front of the beautiful stone fireplace and read a book or have a movie night. The fireplace was converted to gas so it lights with the flip of a switch whenever you want a little ambiance. With two queen beds in the bedroom and a bathroom with a tub shower combo this home is perfect for a couple, mom and dad with a couple of kids or a friend’s getaway. The kitchenette comes equipped with a full-size refrigerator, pots and pans, toaster oven and counter top burners but no full size oven. Make Frontier Mountain Getaway basecamp for all of your fun mountain adventures! What To Be Aware Of: NO SMOKING inside or outside! This rental is the lower level of the home. There is not a stove in the unit, just a two burner plug-in cook top. No A/C Parking for 2 cars in driveway. NO large vehicles, i.e. RVs, trailers. No Parties. No Smoking. No Pets. Fines apply. Quiet Time 7p.m. Guest buys own soaps/paper items when provided starter kit items are depleted. Estes Park is a Dark Sky Community. Bring a Flash Light. BEARS in the area - secure trash, lock doors and windows when leaving. This home does not have a weekly trash pick up service. Trash will be picked up at departure. If necessary, trash will be picked up mid-stay for a nominal fee. Call the office at 970-480-8845. Trash must not overflow the bear proof trash can or be stored in the garage or home. We reserve the right to conduct a property safety check during long term stays. Local On-Call Staff available after hours for emergency issues only, i.e. gas leak, broken furnace, broken water line. Stayed Aug, 2026 Review The first thing I will say is if we could have stayed longer, we would have, but we were due back home in Virginia. I have stayed at many Airbnb‘s. This is in the top five for what we look enjoy. There was plenty to do in the area, but if we chose to sit at home and read or just take in the scenery, we did. Never felt like we had to leave the property to feel like we were enjoying our vacation. I will say the only thing missing would have been lawn furniture on the beautiful patio. Perhaps there was no lawn furniture because of regional issues with weather and the animals that walk freely in Colorado. We saw deer and rabbits every day. This was a fantastic place to spend time. Our two young boys especially loved sitting by the large windows, watching for deer, elk, and other wildlife—it became one of the highlights of our trip. The cabin was spotless, well-maintained, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. We also requested a playpen for our toddler, and it was already in the room when we arrived, which made traveling with little ones so much easier. The beautiful knotty pine interior gave the cabin such a warm, cozy atmosphere and perfectly captured the charm of a classic Colorado mountain retreat.
