Like one previous review mentioned, there is construction going on around the place on some of the parking lot areas, not a huge deal for me but it could be depending on which condo youre in. The only negative we had was the home was a bit difficult to find in the dark. The address typed into Google maps showed a different building in the neighborhood, and we had to walk around to find the correct one. Close to many activities and eating places. Loved seeing the elk walking around the property. The electricity went out the 2nd morning and the staff responded quickly to get it back on. Unfortunately for us, the neighbors beside and above were remodeling and ran power tools until late in the evening, crews of workers kept walking across our front porch every day the whole time and limited our privacy and use of the patio, also a fiber optic line crew came at 8am to trench a line right in front of our cabin. The one bedroom 2 bath with a futon bed in the living room really fit my wife and two small kids great. The only downside was the construction material and workers working on the unit next to us. The town of Estes is only 10 minutes away so youre able to check out downtown, the Stanley Hotel, and lake Estes but still feel immersed in nature. August Stayed Mar, 2022 Review My travel companion and I stayed at this location for 3 months. We are traveling Healthcare workers. Although the views were breathtaking, we felt this particular unit was a bit over priced. We were very much looking forward to the year round hot tub. Unfortunately, the hot tub was drained and our dreams of hot tubbing in the snow were crushed. The gas fireplace was devine! On arrival, it was clean and well organized, and we found it so cute and cozy! The bathrooms were well stocked and the kitchen area had everything we needed for cooking simple meals at home. The location was also very nice--far enough away from the center of Estes to be quiet and relaxing but an easy drive to get to RMNP or to head into town for anything we needed. Our kids loved that we got to see wildlife all around the property. We saw mule deer at least once every day--one doe even hung out on our porch for a minute!--and we were visited by some elk in the field behind the condo as well. Having a pool accessible was also a huge plus and the hot tub was a nice way to relax after a hike. Wifi was perfectly adequate for reserving park times and looking up menus, etc.--we didn't need it for much of anything else and didn't take advantage of the cable.Overall we had a fantastic stay in Little Matterhorn and would definitely reserve it again! Close to the pool. They include kids books and card games. Internet is fast enough to stream movies/tv. Ceiling fan in both the bedroom and living room. Includes Window Unit AC which is OK at bestThe small complaints would be the TVs are comically small and pretty much not viewable unless you are sitting at the edge of the bed or at the kitchen table. (bring your laptop/tablet if you want to watch tv/movies) The windows are extreme hard to open/close. Lastly, this place is on the bottom floor with an apt above you, so if you have guests above you that like to jump or run around, then it's going to be troublesome. We had just driven 17 hours overnight when we arrived. I called and they said absolutely no early check ins even though the confirmation I received when I booked stated they would text when the property was ready. We ended up running to the grocery store and then waiting outside until 4 pm. There wasn't anybody still there cleaning or anything. We just kind of wanted to get settled after a long drive. Host's response: In a "normal" summer we do try and accommodate early arrivals. The CDC guidelines along with our county health department's are what we are following. We were outside most of the time while we were there and saw elk, deer, rabbits, chipmunks (we think) and tons of birds! The property is centrally located to town and many of the trails in the area. We hope to host you again in the future! Richard M. Stayed Oct, 2019 Little Matterhorn Oct 7-11 19 This location, near Mary's Lake in Estes Park, is out of town a couple of miles. It has great views and lots of wildlife. Several small herds of elk, including some absolutely majestic bulls, and many mule deer traveled through the grounds each day of our stay. It snowed about 8 - 10 inches on Thursday (10/10) so we spent the day in town, rather than hiking in the mountains. Even though the "tourist season" had ended (the tram and other attractions were closed) there were still too many people but a lot of things still to do. The grounds of the complex were well kept and even housed a wonderful pool. The condo itself was cozy and warm feeling.
