Lauren Stayed Dec, 2023 Review This spot is quiet and tucked away. A quick drive into town and plenty of this to do and see close by. The bathroom wasnt clean when I arrived and the tub spout was broken. Each unit has a snow shovel for their steps, but the common steps and sidewalk were never touched. I shoveled the public steps every day there was snow accumulated. One night was about 6-8 inches. Hot tub worked great and the neighbors were friendly and quiet. I found it odd that there is a cleaning fee, and then the housekeeper still leaves behind a tip envelope. Especially considering that my unit wasnt fully cleaned when I arrived. The fireplace in the bedroom was a nice touch for the cold nights. Host's response: Thank you for your review. I am sorry the bathroom wasn't cleaned up to our standards. It should have been perfect to begin with but, we would have sent the cleaners back had you not said it was not necessary. This issue has been forwarded to the manager. It is expensive to live in Estes Park. We have to make a 12 month living in 5 months and holidays so we leave a tip envelope for the cleaners in case a guest feels inclined to leave a little extra. In this case the cleaners did not earn a tip. The snow removal is the responsibility of the HOA. I will have our Field Ops team report when the HOA is not meeting this obligation so we can alert the HOA management. Glad you enjoyed the quiet location, hot tub and fireplace. Enjoyed hot tub, but last day would not heat over 95 degrees. We had hard time finding unit but host very helpful in locating. One additional item, is pictures only show steps into condo, there are another 10 to 12 steps up from parking lot. Not a big deal, but keep in mind if you have trouble with steps. Only negative was the pool. The community at Sky Run, really needs to take care of it. Bottom of pool was pitted and dirty with mold growing on pitted surface. Half the lounge chairs were broken and concrete surround pool was in disrepair. But the overall community was great, peaceful and in a great location. Unit was well cared for and comfortable. It's just a few minutes outside of town, and a very short drive to most of the hiking areas in Rocky Mtn National Park. Most park entrances are ~15 minutes away. Lily Mountain trailhead was like 5 minutes. - Overall, well-maintained and pretty comfortable. Bed was comfortable; bathroom very spacious; combined kitchen/living room adequate for two. (Sleeping 4 here would be challenging.) Cons: - The "compact" refrigerator is a dorm-sized fridge. It is really tiny. Overall, they would have done better to get a larger (even if "small") fridge and skip the dishwasher. We managed, but it was tricky. - No privacy. Take the photo of the "cozy kitchen/dining room" area. You see that big window, with the staircase just beyond it? That staircase is used by the adjoining units as well (it comes up from the parking lot). And every time someone in one of the adjoining units is coming up that staircase, or stepping outside their door for any reason, they are looking right into 27C -- if you're eating, you're right at the window, and if you're sitting on the couch, you're only about 10 feet away, with perfect visibility day or night. It got weird; we ended up closing the blinds 24/7 (as did the neighbors). The hot tub, by the way, is on that shared front deck; it's about 8 feet away from either of the adjoining units on either side. So it's like using the hot tub on someone else's front porch. In the bedroom photo, see how the blinds are closed? The bedroom window opens onto a below-ground "well" and about 4 feet to the right of the window is a neighbor's bedroom window. So we kept that closed 24/7 as well. - The complex does have a swimming pool, but it's a bit of a walk to get there and it has no bathroom. So it was a little weird. - Minor issue: TV in living room was stuck on MTV; we could not figure out how to change it despite trying on both remotes. We gave up after a while. Overall, we'd stay here again -- the location just can't be beat, and once you get over the privacy issue, it's comfortable inside. Host's response: Thank you for your review! However, it was very hard to find the first night. It was very dark and there was no one to contact as we arrived after they closed so we were on our own. It was a scramble late at night to try and find the place as there are no signs or lights that could help direct you in the correct direction. Annette Stayed Aug, 2022 Review This was a fantastic stay and here is my review: Location & Look- 5/5 We were a 10-15 minute drive from several RMNP entrance gates. We were also super close to a lot of restaurants and entertainment like the gondola that overlooks Estes Park (which I also recommend, just check the weather). The bed was super comfy and the fireplace in the room was cozy. The living area was smaller than expected but it wasn't a big deal, we still had a great time. Hot Tub- 5/5 Our hot tub worked! I know some of the reviews were stating otherwise, but as of 8/28 it was working well. One of the other guests had hot tub issues and someone came out to fix it for them pretty quick. Some reviews mention that this hot tub is not private, it isn't. The plus of this, was that we could look up at the stars and it was pretty freakin' amazing given that the milky way was visible to the max given the new moon. Communication/Cleanliness & Check In/out: 4/5 Communication and check in were a breeze. I only felt some kind of way that we are paying a $300 cleaning fee and as part of check out was asked to load and run the dishwasher, and take out the trash to a dumpster. I hadn't read the check out instructions clearly before I left, so I didn't actually take the trash out. hopefully I didn't get an additional charge. I just think if we pay such a large cleaning fee, the guest shouldn't have to do all that so maybe consider if you are asking guests to do that, to reduce the cleaning fee cost or just don't ask that of guests. Other than that, everything was fantastic and I would 10/10 recommend this if you are visiting Estes or RMNP! The hot tub, view and location make it worth it. Our one complaint is that the bed was the most uncomfortable we have ever slept on. It is not that it is too hard or soft. It is that it is an enourmous dip in the middle and was terrible for our backs. We ended up lining up all of the pillows down the middle so that it would somewhat level it out and would be bearable. This was so frustrating! We were there for 3 nights.We did not use the hot tub or kitchen at all. Everything else was clean and really well prepared. The bad: do not try to open the door one minute beforePM. Our code was also invalid. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub. The first night it was no where near hot enough to get in. They said they refilled it that morning. The next night it was hot but the jets circulate minimally. Being as though the hot tub was the biggest reason we rented there I would like a partial refund.
