Bring a book and a bottle of wine! Sit outside and breath in the mountain air! With no internet or TV you will not be distracted from the amazing peace and tranquility this home has to offer. Cell service can be spotty but not necessarily unattainable. Try standing on the front porch. Watch the birds and the chipmunks, the elk and the deer from the picture window in the cozy living room. Take an evening walk along the moraine, a perfect way to end the day. Open the windows for natures air conditioning. Use the wind blowing through the pine trees to cool this home. The baseboard heaters will take the chill off the morning temps as the fireplace is not for use. This home has a full kitchen, preparing meals is easy and convenient. No dishwasher, no problem, the serene view from the kitchen window makes this chore easy to do. There is a laundromat at the Country Market, about a mile outside the park but, if you pack a couple extra T-shirts you won’t have to leave the most coveted accommodations in Estes Park. With easy access to miles and miles of hiking trails, when the mountains are calling there is no better place than Niwot Cabin to answer that call. To access Rocky Mountain National Park, you will need a park pass. This can be purchased at the park entrance. An America the Beautiful annual pass is recommended for access to all federally funded national parks, monuments, wilderness areas etc. for 12 consecutive months. For those 62 or older, a lifetime pass is a great option. With your printed confirmation for Niwot Cabin, you will not need the timed entry reservation that is also required by the park service for everyone else! Management provides a starter kit of amenities and toiletries to get you through your first day. Additional supplies can be purchased in town if needed. We had easy access to bear lake & hikes around, and could come back to unwind anytime we wanted. The beds seemed smaller than queen but comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped- there is no dishwasher but they let you know that upfront. The Mountain view from the living room is amazing. Only suggestions- (I) curtains in bedrooms for privacy (II) rugs could use vacuuming but we probably noticed it more because of a crawling baby. Host's response: Thank you for all of your feedback. If you are looking for a quiet cabin inside the park then this is the place. The cabin has been updated and is so comfortable. Stayed Jul, 2023 Amazing Experience Great family vacation at Niwot Cabin. The views are amazing and this is the most relaxing cabin we have ever stayed in. The area is surrounded by some great wildlife. Several trials for hiking or mountain biking. Everyone we met told us how lucky we were to stay inside Estes Park and at this wonderful cabin. Our only regret was that we stayed only two days due to other travel plans. If we would have known how great this place was we would have made initial plans to stay more days. Cherlyn Stayed Jul, 2023 Fabulous Family Getaway Our family of four had an incredible experience at Niwot Cabin. First of all, the cabin is situated inside the park! The location makes it a rare gem since only a handful of cabins are allowed within the park. That means you can skip long lines to enter the Bear Lake Coordidor each day. Once you are in your cabin, there are endless opportunities to explore around the location. My husband and I spent hours exploring the property and came across one of our favorite spots in the park right up from the cabin. You can easily see wildlife from the front porch, and the rocks behind the cabin make for wonderful climbing for children and adults. They even bring horseback tours right in front of the cabin daily. The cabin accommodates a family of four nicely. It's updated and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is stocked well for cooking, and there are eating areas inside and outside the cabin. The cabin is also very close to a giant park and ride that will take you straight to the different trailheads in The Bear Lake Corridor. Be sure to check out Bear Lake and the nearby falls. They are gorgeous! Overall, our family rates our stay at the cabin as one of our most memorable family vacations. We are already talking about returning. Trust me; you will not be disappointed! Heather Stayed Jun, 2023 Incredible Experience We stayed at the Niwot Cabin last week and it was such an incredible experience for my family and me. We felt like we were living in a Thomas Kinkade painting with the lush mountainous surroundings, and the wildlife all around us in Moraine Park. We saw more wildlife at the cabin than we did anywhere else in the National Park. There is a beautiful stream with a waterfall nearby that we were able to see a Moose standing in, and there are hiking trails just a few steps from the door. We also enjoyed the horseback riding tour through the mountains in the park. The cabin itself was just perfect for us. The beds were comfortable, we had plenty of room for all four of us (two adults and two children), and we made some amazing memories there. All of the local people we talked to inside of the park and outside knew which cabin we were staying in when we described it and every one of them said they wished they had been able to stay there themselves and had always wondered who owned it because the location is so perfect. I highly recommend a stay in the Niwot Cabin and hope we will be able to stay there again too! Paul Stayed Jun, 2023 Moraine Immersion Stayed a week in this cabin with family of four. Easy access from the Park entrance and quick drive into Estes Park. Views of Moraine valley are awesome, right out the main cabin windows. Tons of wildlife all around, saw lots of elk and even a moose in the valley. Various hiking trails are accessible from the cabin, either by foot or short drive. Great family vacation!
