Seawall
More than a century of beach lovers have walked the sands along the Seawall and romped in the area’s waters. These are still Galveston’s best-loved beaches and the Seawall’s impressive 10 mile-length makes it the country’s longest continuous sidewalk. Come stroll, bike, swim, and taste your way along this feat of engineering crafted after the Great Storm of 1900 washed away much of Galveston.

On the Water
Don’t let swimmers have all the fun in Galveston’s waters. Kayaking, standup paddleboarding, and surfing charge up any beach day. Surfers flock to jetties at 37th, 47th, 51st, and 61st Streets and lessons are a great way to test the waters. Kayakers and paddleboarders, bring your own or rent from one of Galveston’s outfitters.

Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier
The Pleasure Pier offers a unique blend of nostalgia and excitement, combining the charm of a classic seaside pier with modern, exhilarating rides.
Check out the iconic Ferris Wheel, the Iron Shark roller coaster, or the many kiddie rides for your littlest thrill seekers. The pier also boasts arcade games, delicious dining options, and stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Fishing and Boating
Take your tackle box to Galveston Bay, or fish off of several piers near downtown. Find the best fishing spots with a chartered fishing excursion. Either way, secure a Texas saltwater fishing license before your trip. Boaters, Galveston’s plentiful launches get you on the water fast and boat rentals up the fun. Let someone else captain the ship with boat tours ranging from land and sea duck boat tours to dolphin watching excursions.

Dining
If you’re dreaming of a dinner straight from the sea, Galveston has you covered. Seafood and the freshest of fish are always on the menu. Gaido’s is a local favorite and considered an institution in town. Or, choose from any number of restaurants where you can eat right on the beach. Finish out your night with a sweet treat, such as homemade candies, ice cream, or old-fashioned sodas.

Moody Gardens
Moody Gardens is a multi-faceted entertainment complex that truly has something for everyone. It’s best known for its three pyramid-shaped structures, each featuring a different attraction. The Aquarium Pyramid is home to a diverse range of marine life, such as sharks, penguins, seals and tropical fish. The Rainforest Pyramid boasts a botanical garden with free-roaming rainforest animals. The third pyramid has an interactive Discovery Museum with 3D and 4D theaters. The Moody complex also has dining options, a spa, and a golf course.

Touring Galveston
The Galveston Historical Foundation preserves the area’s legacy on its annual Home Tour every summer, featuring tours of private homes that are usually off-limits to the public. Explore another historical side with Galveston Graveyard Tours and Ghost City Tours–extra spooky in the fall! Sneak fitness in with a Galveston Running Tour or kick back (or up) with helicopter tours to take in all of Galveston. These are a sampling of tours that show off different Galveston sides and cater to almost any interest.

Shopping
From the Strand to the Seawall, Galveston’s shops will fill your bags with antique goods, boutique couture, and unique Galveston finds. Hit hotspots like Postoffice Street (more than 100 stores!) and the blooming WeMa for vintage home finds. Charge back up for more browsing when you savor Galveston’s culinary delights at one of the restaurants, cafes, and bars in each area.

Golfing
Curate the ideal day on the course, whether it’s mini-golf or the full 18 holes. Favorite Galveston courses like the public Moody Gardens Golf Course invite locals and visitors to its greens and also lets golfers try out their practice range before hitting the links. The private Galveston Country Club offers vacation packages for visitors to try out Texas’ oldest course. For a lower key outing, Magic Carpet Golf’s waterside mini-golf course still offers plenty of bragging rights for kids and kids at heart.

Arts and Culture
Take a break from sea and sand and take in Galveston’s rich history and arts scene. The African American Museum highlights Galveston’s black pioneers. The American West thrives at the
Bryan Museum, the house for the largest collection of American West artifacts. Visit Galveston’s industrial history at the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig and Museum.
Add in tours of historic homes like Moody Mansion and Bishops Palace and maybe you’ll trade a beach day for time to hit all of these spots.

Events and Festivals
Galveston pops with events and festivals, so when you’re in town, it’s likely that you’ll have the chance to take part. New Orleans doesn’t have a lock on all of the Mardi Gras fun. In the fall, the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally (Texas’ biggest) draws in bikers and enthusiasts from around the world and other fall faves like Oktoberfest and Halloween’s Misfits Ball at the Scottish Rite Cathedral keep Galveston humming with excitement.

Check-In:
Check-in is 4:00 p.m. CT.
Seven days prior to the arrival date, guests will receive an email that contains directions and access information for the property.
In most cases, guests will access a property via a lockbox or smart lock using an access code.
Early check-ins can be confirmed only on the day of arrival.
Check-Out:
Check-out is 10:00 a.m. CT.
Guests must depart the property by the check-out time unless a late checkout has been coordinated and confirmed with the SkyRun office.
Late check-outs must be coordinated directly with the SkyRun office no later than 9 a.m. on the day of departure. Please note that if we have an incoming guest we will not be able to accommodate a late checkout.
We ask that guests remove major trash from the unit, return the furniture to its original location, and load and run the dishwasher.
Parking:
Parking may be limited. The check-in instructions email will contain information regarding parking at your property.
Any parking fines assessed to your vehicles during your stay will be billed to you if they are billed to us. Parking fines can be significant.
Property Damage Waiver
Enjoy peace-of-mind with our incidental damage protection.
SkyRun includes a property damage protection waiver on each reservation. The damage waiver covers damage to the property up to $1,500 so long as the damage is accidental and reported to SkyRun prior to your departure. It does not cover damage that is willful, the result of negligence, or damaged caused by the misuse of household items. It also doesn’t cover unreported damage. SkyRun doesn’t charge our guests a refundable damage deposit in lieu of the waiver. Unlike a refundable damage deposit, the damage protection waiver is nonrefundable.
If during your rental of our property, you damage the real or personal property assigned to that property, SkyRun will cover the cost of repairs or the cost to replace the property up to an amount not to exceed $1,500. Should the cost of the damage exceed $1,500 or does not meet the criteria for a “covered loss”, and the property owner’s insurance policy also does not cover the loss, then you shall be responsible for the full amount of the damage which will be charged to the credit card on file. Coverage is provided to you and all travelling companions that are staying in the home overnight during your stay.
Coverage is not provided for loss due to:
- Your intentional acts or gross negligence.
- Any damage that occurs if you are in violation of the terms and conditions (including but not limited to having more than maximum occupancy or having a party).
- Loss, theft or damage to any personal effects owned by you or brought on the covered stay by you.
- Loss, theft or damage caused by any person other than you or your traveling companions with whom you share the property reservation unless substantiated by a police report.
Your Duties in the Event of Damage. You must:
- Take all reasonable, necessary steps to protect the property and prevent further damage to it.
- Report the loss in writing (email ok) prior to check-out to the SkyRun staff.
- Provide us documentation such as pictures to substantiate the claim.
