Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were clean. Kitchen had extra ingredients and well stocked for cooking meals. We walked to Rollinsville one evening and visited the distillery, brewery, and pizzeria, which was really a fun find (we had no idea about this microcosm until after we booked). It was about a 12 minute walk to town and 20 minute walk back up the hill. Make sure you bring a flashlight if you plan to walk in the dark. Host's response: Thank you Stephen for your review! We enjoyed the views, relaxing on the deck, playing games at the dining table, streaming movies and football in the media room, and cooking together. The pool table was a bonus as was having the garage for our cars. The Howlin Wind Brewery and Toss wood-fired eatery at the bottom of the hill were great, both provided tasty treats. Good hiking in the area kept us occupied during the day. The downstairs bed was comfortable except for the inadequate mattress pad. Stayed May, 2023 Beautiful location and home Our family cannot say enough great things about our stay. The house was gorgeous. The beds were comfortable. The view was absolutely stunning. There were two washers and dryers which was perfect since my parents stayed in the lower level so they didnt have to hike their clothes up the stairs. Our favorite thing was eating breakfast and watching a moose walk across the front yard. Our entire goal for the trip was to see a moose. We did many drives and hikes and never spotted one but one of our last mornings we looked outside the window and saw a moose! You can get to any good hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and awesome disc golf courses about 20 minutes out. The house was very nice and the beds were all very comfortable. The top deck has great views of the mountains out west. Lots of wildlife as well. We saw fox, deer, Moose and elk all at the house. The neighbor and his dog benjamin are very friendly as well. Stayed Feb, 2023 Lovely Colorado Mountain Retreat We gathered together from both coasts to celebrate my 75th birthday with children & grandchildren. The home is lovely and the beds were very comfortable, the rooms set apart enough for privacy but very convenient. The kitchen had everything we needed, with shelves marked so we knew where to put everything after clean-up. We were able to watch the Super Bowl in the Media Room from the very large TV, with plenty of room for everyone to sit. The large country dining table allowed for games as well as ample space for meals, with scenic views everywhere. The grandchildren especially enjoyed looking down at the train tracks below & hearing the whistles blow periodically during our stay. The snow against the pine trees made a very rustic setting and the wind at night added to the cozy feeling. Don’t miss the amazing Carousel of Happiness close by. The property exceeded our expectations! The views from the deck and all of the rooms are amazing. It is also peaceful and quiet. Loved sitting on the deck and listening to the birds. The inside of the property is well worth the stay as well. We didnt take too much advantage of the media room or the lower level but did play a little pool and used the huge TV for a couple of video games. The king and queen beds were very comfortable (didnt sleep in either of the twin beds). The property managers were very responsive and even made sure there were fans in each room after we asked if there would be any plug in fans available for use. We sat out on the deck and grilled stakes, enjoyed the views and the sunsets. We enjoyed hiking around the lake and various mountain trails. Nederland is such a quaint little town. The local town was great, plenty of places to eat and a grocery store. The only downsides were the atmosphere is a lot higher than our home town of Texas, so climbing up and down 3 flights of stairs was exhausting in the beginning, and towns like Breckenridge and Winter Park are an hour and a half away. It's a beautifully appointed home with everything we needed for a fun relaxing getaway in the mountains of Colorado. It was close to town for all our needs but secluded in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean and extremely comfortable for a family or group of friends. Kitchen well stocked for cooking and there is a wonderful gas grill as well. Travel on dirt roads to get there is a bit exciting and you may want to stay put once you arrive! Like most places in Colorado no airconditioning so hot in summer. Open windows at night to cool off and then close up in day to solve this issue. The view from the deck is mesmerizing....we spent alot of time out there. Only 40 minutes from Boulder. No AC which was understandable but had to keep the windows open to try to stay cool. Would have been nice to have screens on windows to keep bugs out.Suggestions: Install ceiling fans in the bedrooms and PLEASE get a decent coffee pot.
