The extra bonus room was nice for person #7 (have to walk thru King room to get to the bonus room). We cooked large meals and the home had plenty of space and equipment for cooking. The deck is so relaxing with a nice fire pit and table seating. Gorgeous lake and mountain views. The main floor living dining area gave us space to gather but also spread out. The house was spotless, plenty of sleeping arrangements and tons of kitchen necessities for cooking meals.The hot tub was amazing and we loved the view from the living room over the lake. Our only two qualms were the directions to the home were not written out as well and simply as they could have been. Had to turn around a few times to find the right streets. And on our checkout date, there was a massive snow storm and the pass to get home was closed. We asked if we could stay and wait it out for a few hours until the pass opened but were denied. They would have charged us $125 for a late checkout even though we were stuck. The driveway always was not plowed before checkout time so we had to dig our car out to leave in time. Only to be sitting in our car for 2 hours at the bottom of the pass until it opened. Host's response: Hey Mara,Apologies for the hassle in finding the unit. We'll review the instructions and ensure they're crystal clear. Glad you navigated the snowy driveway safely; mountain weather sure throws some surprises at 9,00 feet. The views were stunning and everything depicted in the pictures was completely accurate. We loved spending our getaway here and our kids kept asking if we could move in. There was an adorable Christmas tree decorated and lit in the corner, which made it all the more cozy. It was such a treat to soak in the hot tub after a long day of hiking. All the essentials were provided so we felt right at home. We will definitely be returning in the summer months, as the downtown are looked as though it offered a lot of fun summer activities. Two perfect balconies, we had a great view of 4th of July fireworks. Kitchen is fully stocked no need to bring anything just food . 2 min drive to GL town unfortunately not walkable. Rent a boat at the lake its a great experience. Entrance to Rocky Mountain National park is 2 miles away with nice hike trails and not as busy as the Estes park area on the east part of Rocky . Also close enough to Winter park resort to spend the day there. They have a policy of no shoes inside the home which I totally agree with , I do that at my own home but the stairs are not very deep to fully plant your entire foot , they are steep and very slippery please DO NOT wear socks , you may fall down those stairs like my husband did. The house was even more gorgeous in person. Everything was super clean and tidy. So many amenities and places in the house to relax in. There was lots of games and areas for our kids to play in. There was enough space for 2 vehicles and our 30 ft pontoon to park comfortably. The jacuzzi was so relaxing to end the day in. We got to see an elk at a distance. It was overall worth every penny and will most definitely be staying here every time we come up to the lake. The hosts were very quick to respond when I had any questions prior to our stay. Once we checked in there was no need to even reach out as everything was perfect in the home, but they still reached out to me a couple times to ensure everything was running smoothly. 5 stars overall!!! The house is full of large windows that look out on Shadow Mountain Lake and you can see the historic town of Grand Lake nestled in the valley. Everything we needed was there, and more than we expected! It seemed like everything was new (and high-end) yet comfortably designed. We enjoyed the town and the public beach and some fun restaurants (“One Love Kitchen” was delicious) but mainly cooked in the really pretty kitchen. There was a dining room, but most of us wanted to eat out on the huge deck and enjoy the lake. Lots of room for the families to be together (or apart when we wanted to be) on different levels. Had fun in the bar and hot tub. Best of all, were the 180 degree vistas of the lakes and large mountains. It was less than a mile, I think, to town and the RMNPark just down Trail Ridge Road. We saw a beautiful red fox twice, took a lot of great photos to remember the good time we had. We definitely want to come back to this “cool cabin”, the kids said they loved this place! Lauren Williams Stayed May, 2023 Beautiful house with STUNNING views! Our family recently stayed at Ski Shores in Grand Lake for a long weekend, and it was a memorable stay for all of us. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with unbelievable lake views that surprised and took our breath away. The kids said “wow” as we drove up and saw the view.The home itself was great - clean, luxurious, and brand new. One of the highlights of our stay was the wildlife we encountered. We saw a mama and baby moose grazing on the yard. It was a unique and awe-inspiring experience for our kids. The boys also loved the freedom to run around and explore the woods, and feed chipmunks! We watched from the glass railing deck. The communication from Rachel and her crew was great and quick. Grand Lake the town is a quaint treasure. We hope to make Grand Lake and Ski Shores our destination for our family reunion later this year. That trip we will go to Rocky Mtn National Park just a couple of miles from this house. The first floor with its own Bar, gameroom, TV, beautiful bath, and great Hot Tub was super fun. There were two queen beds in that first floor bedroom. The bedrooms on the third floor were very nicely done and comfy, and we picked the one with stunning views of the lake and mountains to wake up to. All had TVs. But what delighted my boys was the secret cubby play area complete with dinosaurs. They spent a lot of time playing in there, and it was a joy to see their excitement when they “found” the cubby.There was also a twin bed small bedroom my son loved. My husband grilled delicious meals on the back patio (we stopped by Fitch Ranch Meat Market on the way in) and I cooked in the kitchen of my dreams. The kitchen had a huge marble island.It had everything we could possibly need, and things were brand new. It was fun to cook in such a nice modern kitchen. A hike to Adams Falls we were told is a must-do and it was a great way to immerse our kids in nature. We also visited the Rapids restaurant, which came highly recommended, and was next to a beautiful river. Highly recommend. The Sagebrush is another one we liked. Overall, our rental experience at Ski Shores was ideal. The house was pristine, the views were incredible, and the amenities were top-notch. We can't wait to go back for another unforgettable stay!
