The living room is large and comfortable, offering a flat screen smart TV and decorative fireplace. For your dining options, you may wish to pull up a bar stool to enjoy a cup of Kona Coffee at the kitchen counter or enjoy casual family dining at the kitchen table. When you decide to leave the beautiful home to explore the island and / or beaches, you will find everything needed, including boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach chairs, even a cooler, etc. While you can find an assortment of beaches (white, black and green sand) around the island, the closest beaches are only a 10-minute drive. You may wish to check out Kahalu'u which is unique in that one side of the bay is protected by a natural reef which makes for safe and easy snorkeling, while the other side of the bay offers unprotected waves and is known for great Kona surfing (where you can take surfing lessons). Or try Magic Sands Beach, which is famous for white sand and fun waves to boogie board. How about a round of golf? Kona Country Club Golf Course is also only about 10 minutes away. Keauhou Harbor is very convenient (10-minute drive) to book fishing, diving, snorkeling, whale/dolphin watching or sunset cruises. Keauhou shopping center is about 5 minutes away and offers stores to shop, grocery store, drug store, restaurants, theater, fast food options, a gas station, as well as Farmer's Market Saturday mornings and usually free concert or entertainment on Friday evenings. We rent a lot of vacation properties and the folks who manage this one are by far the nicest, most thoughtful and responsive people weve encountered. Fantastic communication and super sweet touches throughout. The property is amazing. The view is gorgeous. The sunsets cant be beat and the ocean seems closer than it looks in the pictures. The sounds of the birds and frogs were so fun. I was worried that having no AC might be a problem but it wasnt at all. The ocean breeze is perfect. I loved how close we were to a cute shopping center and great grocery store as well as the harbor where both of our excursions took off from. Everything was absolutely perfect. The house worked out perfect for our group, they had everything that you could need. The hosts were very accommodating, and very responsive. We requested an early check-in and they were able to check-in 3 hrs early. Arrived at the house to a beautiful welcome bouquet of flowers, a box of Hawaiian macadamia nuts, and a baskets full of fruit. Great shopping just a short distance with more shopping in Kona. The pool and deck was everything we needed to enjoy the sun and being able to cool off on the beautiful salt water pool. Would stay here in a heartbeat. Communication with management was easy and seamless. We also met the gentlemen in the guest house and he was very cool and didnt notice he was there at all. The interior is elegantly designed with stunning tables, pictures, and linens. Its about 12 min from Kailua-kona so access to beaches and nightlife are a short drive. Our recent stay at Casa Miramar offered the perfect way to ring in the New Year, take respite from the bustle of every day life, and serve as a "base of operations" for exploring the Big Island of Hawaii on our family's inaugural visit to Hawaii. This home's environment and accommodations were a major feature of our overall exceptional experience and helped created the memorable milestone vacation we'd sought. Nestled in a peaceful neighborhood at an elevation that offers expansive views of the coast & tropical flora it captures gentle breezes and strikes the perfect balance between indoors and embracing all that surrounds. We arrived after sunset and while we were immediately struck with the beauty of the home, the spacious accommodations, and tasteful appointments, it was at sunrise the next day that our awe set in with full view of the coast and lush vegetation. Whether enjoying the heated salt water pool together or separately taking advantage of one the many comfortable nooks to read or nap amidst the serenity it was very hard to return to depart for the "real world" as our time wound down. I'd like to also highlight how responsive and professional our hosts were - they'd provided everything needed to settle in and make this property our "home" for a week w/o our ever needing to ask, helpfully provided means to trickle charge our EV rental overnight, and offered to assist with itinerary suggestions. We've historically primarily stayed in resorts / hotels in our travels elsewhere but our experience here has completely altered the way we'll look to plan future adventures!
