Rent The Entire Mad House For Larger Groups. You can rent the entire Mad House if you have a large group, event or a Reunion. In total the Mad House has 10 Bedrooms, 10 Bathrooms and 3 pull out Couches for sleeping. There are 3 Kitchens, 3 Dining areas and 5 Living areas. As each unit is separate, you have the ability to have groups together while also allowing for some privacy between different segments of your group. There is a large shared Green-space out front with a fire pit for events and communal gathering.

Unit #1: This 3 bedroom 3 bath unit, Orsini's, boasts an impressive 2,000 square feet of living space, making it the ideal choice for families or groups of friends. What sets Orsini's apart is its single-level design, eliminating the need to navigate stairs and ensuring accessibility for all. This spacious unit comfortably accommodates up to eight guests and marries Vermont barn aesthetics with contemporary amenities. The open floor plan creates a seamless flow between the full modern kitchen, wet bar, dining area, and living space. A 55" smart TV graces the living area, perfect for movie nights or catching up on your favorite shows. Additionally, there's a separate den furnished with a sleeper sofa and another 55" smart TV, offering a cozy nook for relaxation. The living space includes realistic electric fireplace, complete with steam effects, adds a touch of cozy warmth to your evenings. Bedrooms have A/C for warm summer months.

Unit #2: La Pasta is named after the second restaurant to occupy the barn. It is a modern 2000 sq foot, 4 bedroom/3 bath lower level unit that does have some outdoor large flat stairs to navigate, and can accommodate 10 people. While it is a lower level unit you can hear footsteps from the unit above. It is a very open unit with plenty of windows in the bedrooms and higher windows in the living area. It is a fun unit that is more contemporary and has just a touch of the barn look to it. The TV in the den gives the kids a place to escape and adds some privacy. The den also houses a sleeper couch for extra space if needed. Being a lower unit, La Pasta stays cool all summer long without the use of A/C. When you are done with all of your activities, take a soak in your private hot tub.

Unit #3: This 3 bedroom 3 bath unit, The Common Man, boasts an impressive 2,000 square feet of living space, making it the ideal choice for families or groups of friends. Named after the third and final restaurant to occupy the building, This very special 2000 square foot luxury unit that sleeps 8. You need to walk up 4 steps to the unit and two bedrooms are on the second floor. This two story unit is very reminiscent of the last and most famous restaurant that was housed in this barn. The beautiful grand fireplace is still the focal point of this space and we were able to incorporate many fun elements from the original barn.

In the winter, the bus stops right at the property and in the summer there are hiking trails right off of the property.

Only ONE dog is allowed per unit. No biters, no barkers. Dog MUST be crated when left alone. Dog is not allowed on the furniture. Please pick up after the dog, no more than 1 DOG per unit. NO other animals. $125 dollar non-refundable pet fee will apply. Please notify the manager you are bringing a dog.

A Great family gathering space

We loved this space for our multi-generational family gathering. Having the separate spaces for each generation made it comfortable for everyone. Highly recommend! Also, we loved the greenish kitchen countertops, can you tell us what material that is? Thanks!

Review

We really enjoyed our visit! We used all three units for a church retreat.  It was great to have the separation.  You didn’t know there were other units.  Very quiet and calm.  Plenty of bathrooms, separate dens and other spaces.  Highly recommended!

Pass Over

We celebrated with family and friends. The location was central, the houses as promised and having 3 kitchens was perfect. Hoping to return next year!!

Perfect for a multi-family ski trip!

This place was great for our large group of 6 young families; plenty of bedrooms and space for hanging out, but enough separation for everyone to feel comfortable. The house is incredibly close to Sugarbush mountain (2 min drive), but we used the seasonal shuttle which worked perfectly for our large ski group. The host was also very communicative and quick to respond to inquiries. Will definitely plan a large ski trip here again next year!

Review

Each unit was fully stocked, kitchens were complete with cookware in great shape, knife sets and accessories which made group meals extremely easy. The location is perfect for skiing and local exploration. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Our large group had a fantastic time!!

Holiday ski getaway

We were a large group that rented the entire property. Overall a great option for multiple families to be together and have some space apart. Location to mountain was perfect. Unit 3 was far and away the nicest. We enjoyed fires every night (plenty of wood provided) and kitchen was great for making family style meals. Hot tubs needed more maintenance and unit 2 had a compressor literally attached to a bedroom wall that was very noisy.

Perfect for large groups

The Mad House was such an incredible spot for large groups. We had 25 adults and 16 kids at one point of the weekend. Not everyone stayed the night but everyone who did had a bed (kids on air mattresses) and plenty of bathrooms. The commons spaces were beautiful. We had a fire in the fireplace one morning and everyone came in for breakfast, it was so relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend to any family or group of friends. We were able to put the kids to bed and monitors reached in every location throughout the 3 units. There was a fire pit and large flat area for the kids to run around. Hoping to make this an annual event with friends and family.

Perfect Stay for Our Wedding Weekend!

We stayed at The Mad House Rentals for a wedding weekend and rented all three units: The Common Man, La Pasta, and Orsini’s. The property was beautifully renovated, keeping its historic charm while offering all the modern comforts we needed. Each unit was spacious, well-designed, and had great amenities like Sonos, washers/dryers, private decks with grills, and hot tubs.

Summer of 2024

This property was perfect for us, we rented the entire Mad House for our stay. Our group consisted of men, women and teens. Teens took La Pasta, moms took Orsini & Dads got The Common Man. Each unit was tailor made for our needs, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The property was super clean, tastefully decorated and very well stocked with kitchen and bathroom essentials. The hot tubs added to the fun. The property manager was very responsive and we had a great time. I wouldn't think twice about renting this property twice in the future. We had a great vacation!

Review

We visited with a family group of 14, ranging in age from 20 to 95.  The Beautiful units exceeded expectations and everyone was comfortable and had space if they needed it.  The location is convenient to anything you need and the staff Sky Run were friendly and helpful.  I hope to return during ski season!
