The adobe style home is best thought of as a series of units, with plenty of space for our family of four. We visited in November, with outside temps in 30s to 40s, and were very grateful for the wood-burning stove, as well as other heating sources. After the first chilly day, the house felt cozy and warm throughout our stay. Everything worked as it should (kitchen, laundry etc.) and the extensive collection of wonderful books was much appreciated. Host's response: Thank you, Pavle! The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pots and pans etc. We enjoyed the separate rooms which gave us space , privacy with our companions when needed. There was one problem but Samatha. There are many sitting areas inside and out and it is a great place to relax after a day in town. Canyon road is close but is not a great route to walk. Most people will still need to drive or Uber. The home is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood. Ample natural light & trees hugging the property made for a bright and pleasant environment. Walkable to Canyon Road Galleries & the downtown area. Accurate listing descriptions & communicative and helpful property managers. Take note ~ both bathrooms are upstairs, while one bedroom is downstairs. We did notice different floor heights (steps & flooring types) from room-to-room so make sure you are steady on your feet & dont trip easily. It's located fairly close to the downtown markets and restaurants, although not quite walking distance. The home is very tastefully decorated with a great sense of style, while still feeling very comfortable throughout. The outdoor spaces are also very enjoyable and made this stay feel good value for money.As said in the description, the 2nd bedroom is downstairs, and there are some low door headers and small steps throughout the upper level, which add to the charm of the home but would probably be a bit hazardous for most seniors or those with mobility issues. Steve S. Stayed Apr, 2023 Recommended! We loved our stay at Casa del Bosque. The house was very clean and comfortable and had lots of character (in a good way!). I was a bit apprehensive about a couple of reviews that suggested heating might be an issue, but the house was toasty warm upon arrival and stayed that way throughout our stay even with outside temperatures in the teens at night. I suspect management had taken steps to address that issue after prior reviews as there were newish looking heating units in several rooms, each with remote controls for setting temperature, as well as radiant heaters in master bath and the downstairs room that one prior reviewer had described as chilly. Management also had good communication by text message and was quick to respond to any questions. The bed in the master bedroom was a bit firmer than I prefer but still comfortable with a bit of memory foam squish (nothing wrong with it, just my own preference for a very soft bed). It was a bit cold to sit on the back deck in February, but it looked like that would be a nice spot to sit or eat outside in warmer months. Location of the house is fantastic. It feels secluded but still close to everything. My wife loved that it was walking distance to the Teahouse, her favorite breakfast spot in Santa Fe. There are stairs and step-downs throughout so it might be challenging for some folks. The second bedroom is in the lower level and it’s bathroom is upstairs so take that into consideration.This home is what I had hoped for being in Santa Fe, something that reflected the heritage of the area and the owner certainly fulfilled that with the extensive and eclectic artwork and furnishings.
