Visit St. Paul

St. Paul may be one half of the Twin Cities but shines brightly on its own. Home to the US’ longest stretch of Victorian homes (4.5 miles of them), Summit Avenue is worth a St. Paul stay alone. The good news is Minnesota’s capital city extends Midwestern warmth and serves up cultural hot spots, outdoor escapes, and plenty of history to discover. Go below ground at the Wabasha Street Caves and envision the dark and secret era of Prohibition. Head back up and spend the day wandering the halls of Gilded Age glory at the The James J. Hill House or observe animals up close at the Como Park Zoo. With ample dining, nightlife, and a restaurant scene with an international flair, you’ll wonder why you didn’t come to St. Paul sooner.

Let's Talk!

Dining and Nightlife

Pull up a chair on a sidewalk at one of Grand Avenue’s cafes or come back when the sun sets for live music and some of the city’s best eats.

Lowertown’s mix breweries and restaurants gives locals and visitors the chance to savor culinary creativity and kick back with local brews. Check out the dates for the annual   Lowertown Blues and Funk Festival.

National touring acts and sports ignite the Xcel Energy Center, so see if your favorite team or act is in town during your stay.

A Tour for Every Taste

Minnesota’s capital is yours to explore above ground, below ground, and even on hallowed ground. Start by exploring the Capitol itself and see the state government at work. For a completely different side or the city, go underground at the Wabasha Street Caves and imagine what life was like in Prohibition and when gangsters used this hidden network for secret dealings. Twin Cities Highlight Tour takes you to all of St. Paul’s must-see spots and ventures into next-door neighbor Minneapolis. Top off your day of touring and fill up on hot eats and cold drinks along the food and brewery tours to satisfy all of your cravings.

Arts and Culture

St. Paul’s arts and culture scene brings history alive. The James J. Hill House transports you to the Gilded Age with all of the glamor and excess the era is known–don’t forget to visit the on-site art museum. For all things performing arts, the Landmark Center hosts some of the city’s best concerts, plays, and dance performances–see what’s on stage when you’re in town. Another night at the theater to add to your agenda is the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts where musicals and plays captivate audiences.

Get Outside

The beauty of a St. Paul stay is that you don’t have to choose between the hum of city life and the tranquility of the outdoors. The city comes alive with plenty of outdoor spaces where you can connect with nature. Fort Snelling State Park provides year-round adventure and relaxation. Fish in summer, take a hike, and even cross country ski when the snow falls. Como Park is another local favorite where you can walk the trail around the lake, kayak, or visit the Como Park Zoo and observe animals like polar bears (who probably love the chilly Midwestern temps!). And don’t miss the stretch o the 72-mile

Mississippi River Park that cuts through St.Paul.

Museums

St. Paul’s museums aren’t just stuffy halls where art feels inaccessible. There are plenty of city spots where kids can burn off energy and maybe even learn at the same time. The

Science Museum of Minnesota lets visitors delve into biology, anthropology, and paleontology through its exhibitions and events. Kids (and kids at heart) will also love the

Minnesota Children’s Museum where kids can get hands-on with 11 exhibits.

Sports

Let the season decide which of Minnesota’ teams you can root for when you head over to Minneapolis. Hear the city erupt at U.S. Bank Stadium when the Vikings kick off. Catch NBA and WNBA games at the Target Center–both teams mean basketball season is almost year-round here. The Boys of Summer (and fall, if it’s a strong season) take the plate on the Twins’ home at Target Field. All these teams make St. Paul a sports fan’s dream.

Must-see Spots

Since St, Paul is Minnesota’s capital, a stop or tour of the  State Capitol Building gives visitors a sense of government at work and a glimpse into the state’s past. Architecture fans will also need to make time to visit the mansions that line Summit Avenue. These testaments to Victorian architecture are the country’s longest stretch of Victorian homes and offer 373 sites along 4.5 miles.

Mall of America

Worthy of its own shopping shoutout! Here’s the Mall of America by the numbers. Annual visitors? 40 million. Size? 5.6 MILLION square feet (more than 10 Great Pyramids). Year-round temp? A balmy 70 degrees. Impressive stats but it’s the sheer magnitude of shopping splendor, more than 400 annual events, and attractions like Nickelodeon Universe,Sea Life Minnesota Aquarium, Flyover America, and Crayola Experience that make visiting this international destination worth the trip to Minnesota itself.

Nearby Minneapolis

Ice skating on frozen lakes, hot dishes serving up chef-inspired creations, and, of course, a dash of Purple Rain–this is today’s Minneapolis. Warm Midwestern vibes greet you throughout the city, and this hub blends refined city living with Mother Nature’s best. Grab a bike, kayak, or a pair of sneakers to explore the Chain of Lakes. Continue the outdoor adventure at the Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens at the Walker Art Center and let the cultural flow continue when you catch a show at the iconic First Avenue–one of Prince’s former stages. Speaking of Prince, make a whole day out of exploring his life and music and  tour Paisley Park. This ultimate mix of culture and adventure makes Minneaoplis a must.

Property Damage Waiver

Enjoy peace-of-mind with our incidental damage protection.

SkyRun includes a property damage protection waiver on each reservation. The damage waiver covers damage to the property up to $1,500 so long as the damage is accidental and reported to SkyRun prior to your departure. It does not cover damage that is willful, the result of negligence, or damaged caused by the misuse of household items. It also doesn’t cover unreported damage. SkyRun doesn’t charge our guests a refundable damage deposit in lieu of the waiver. Unlike a refundable damage deposit, the damage protection waiver is nonrefundable.

If during your rental of our property, you damage the real or personal property assigned to that property, SkyRun will cover the cost of repairs or the cost to replace the property up to an amount not to exceed $1,500. Should the cost of the damage exceed $1,500 or does not meet the criteria for a “covered loss”, and the property owner’s insurance policy also does not cover the loss, then you shall be responsible for the full amount of the damage which will be charged to the credit card on file. Coverage is provided to you and all travelling companions that are staying in the home overnight during your stay.

Coverage is not provided for loss due to:

  • Your intentional acts or gross negligence.
  • Any damage that occurs if you are in violation of the terms and conditions (including but not limited to having more than maximum occupancy or having a party).
  • Loss, theft or damage to any personal effects owned by you or brought on the covered stay by you.
  • Loss, theft or damage caused by any person other than you or your traveling companions with whom you share the property reservation unless substantiated by a police report.

Your Duties in the Event of Damage. You must:

  • Take all reasonable, necessary steps to protect the property and prevent further damage to it.
  • Report the loss in writing (email ok) prior to check-out to the SkyRun staff.
  • Provide us documentation such as pictures to substantiate the claim.

St. Paul Frequently Asked Questions

SkyRun provides photos, maps, amenity details and reviews about the property you will be renting. Our staff has first-hand knowledge of each property, so don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions.

Our rentals come fully furnished including TVs, high-speed internet, linens and towels, a microwave, dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen essentials. We sweat the details and provide starter supplies like shampoo, conditioner, tissues, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, soaps, trash bags, etc. We provide everything you expect from a fine hotel, and then some. Refer to individual listings to see more amenity information, and please contact us directly if you still have questions.

When you book direct with SkyRun, you avoid paying service fees that traditional listing channels charge, like Airbnb. Our prices are also competitive with rent-from-owner rates, but we offer professional service, optional travel insurance, and immediate on-site assistance should the need arise. In addition, we offer exclusive discounts from local businesses, available only to SkyRun guests. SkyRun can help you plan and save on your entire vacation experience, not only the rental itself.

Travel insurance is an optional addition to your total rental charges. It is offered on our reservation form at the time of booking. It is also usually offered at the time of booking when you booked with a 3rd party booking site. You can also add travel insurance onto your reservation within 48 hours of booking with SkyRun. The cost of travel insurance varies and is usually between 7% - 9.5% of your total reservation cost depending on the coverage type. If you do not have travel insurance, you can not cancel your reservation for any reason. If you have travel insurance and need to cancel or make a claim refer to your specific policy. Ask us for more information about the travel insurance policies SkyRun offers.

You can rent any of our properties by booking directly on this website using a credit card or you can call to book a reservation if you would like to speak with a vacation planner. When you book, 1/3 of your total reservation cost or a minimum of $300 is charged as a non-refundable deposit to secure your rental. 30 days before your arrival, the remaining amount is due and becomes non-refundable if you need to cancel for any reason (see travel insurance above for exceptions). At this time, the credit card we have on file will be automatically charged for the balance.

For most properties, SkyRun utilizes a convenient keypad lock system which allows you to enter your vacation rental using a personalized access code, as opposed to having to pick up a key and worrying about keeping track of it during your stay. This also saves you the trouble of coming to a check-in center beforehand. Your welcome packet will be in your rental upon arrival, and our staff is always only a phone call away if any questions arise.

You must be 25 years old to rent. No smoking and no pets (unless specifically designated as pet-friendly) are allowed in the rentals. No parties where more than the number of people the property sleeps are allowed in the rental at any time. As in your own home, renters are of course subject to citations for noise violations, etc, handed down by public officials. Remember you are staying as a guest in someone's home, where much investment has been made to make your stay enjoyable; please treat all private property with the respect it deserves.
