There is a notable buzzing sound when you're out on the deck (not from inside the house) from the high-voltage power lines above this neighborhood, which may be a nuisance during the summer months. Also, there is noise transference from the guests in the duplex next door at times that can be challenging. Otherwise, the newly constructed space & various amenities are a treat! It is not on any free shuttle bus lines to ski area, so had to have someone drop us off every day or could have driven down to the main road to await a shuttle at the bu stop there. The layout was perfect for the seven of us: adults upstairs with basically two masters, kids on the lowest level with their own living room and bathroom. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and quiet. We hadn't expected to use the laundry while we were there, but kids, so it was nice to discover that there were some detergent packets provided for us. The master bed is very comfy and the master bathroom was a treat with plenty of hot water (I think there's a tankless, on-demand system).The location has a lovely view down a valley with lots of trees. It's very close to town, and the Old Town Hot Springs, and would be a great place to relax in the summer. There were a few small areas that could be improved:We found the garage to be very tight with 2 mid-size cars (Subaru Forester and Tesla Model Y) because the garbage cans and bikes take up room along the sides. Maybe a little reorganization could free up some room. There weren't very many utensils to cook with. Easily remedied!The fireplace didn't work. (: Kerry Stayed Mar, 2022 Review New construction, a fashionable living room, an efficient kitchen that was a pleasure to use, and a big deck with a beautiful view when the weather is warm. We had 11 people and, though full, the house did not feel cramped. The master suite has a really cool walk-in shower. The 4-car limit was a bit of a pain point for our crew, as we had 5 and there was almost nowhere in town to legally park overnight. (An apparent fifth parking spot is supposedly reserved as a channel for snow plowing. There was no need for plowing while we were there, but the internet is full of horror stories from people attempting to park overnight in Steamboat Springs, and we did not wish to test the host's strict policy.) There's no gear allowed in the house but the garage is heated so you should have no issues with, eg, cold ski boots.The unit is on a road about halfway between downtown and the ski area; it's about a 5 minute drive to downtown or to the resort base. Parking at either place was and free (if you use the Meadows or Knoll lots at the resort) and easy: No cruising or fighting for a space. Some of our group walked to Old Town Hot Springs, about a mile away, and there is a nearby bus stop, but we did not use it. Getting around by car is convenient enough that you will probably want to do that, (unless you've flown in).Downtown Steamboat Springs has a lot of nice restaurants, but if you stay for multiple nights, I highly recommend planning to stay in and cook dinner at least one night. The yellow line bus picked us up within minutes and took us downtown any time we called.
