Each family had a bathroom and a bedroom, plus the bunk room for kids and the pull out couch made sure everyone had a place to sleep and private place to retreat to if needed. The kitchen was big and easy for 4 adults to work in together. The upstairs and downstairs common spaces made it easy for people to gather and have different activities or conversations. We went during a historic snow storm. We noticed this location gets the most snow in the Truckee area and the least frequent snow plowing because the street is at the end-of-the-line. We shoveled 10 inches of snow 4 times over 2 days just to get in/out of the driveway. The novelty wore off quickly but we still had a great time and I would definitely rent the place again. We hardly felt like we needed to leave the house since the views were amazing. The kitchen was a great size for us since we had several families staying together. The living/kitchen area was perfect for hanging out, but we were all able to retreat to our own separate areas for some privacy. The kitchen was very well equipped. We cooked large meals on two occasions, and everything we could possibly need was stocked. Our favorite part of the home was the breathtaking view. The windows were large and it was wonderful to sit together and look out over the scenery. Our kids were delighted to watch deer early in the morning from the large patio. We also enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. It's very quiet and peaceful and perfect for pinecone hunting. The owner was very responsive to our inquiries about the area, and also helpful when we realized we had left something behind.
