It’s also a place where people naturally gather and an area we find ourselves spending plentiful time around. However, while we are on vacation, we don’t necessarily want to spend time preparing elaborate meals that require work and create a mess of dishes. We want to spend that time feeling like we’re on vacation. So if we are not dining out, we want home-cooked meals that allow us to enjoy friends and family. A few of these meals are also are fun to make with kids because they can choose what they want. That’s why we have selected 5 quick and easy home-cooked meals for your SkyRun Vacation Rental that are simple to make while cutting down on prep and cleanup time. The following meals are some of our absolute favorites to make and some of them don’t even require a recipe… Enjoy! 1. Pizza Party (recipe below) Inherited from my Dad, pizza parties are my favorite meal to make because everyone, especially the kids, can be apart of the process and all tastes are met. For the sake of efficiency, grab some pre-made pizza dough, turn the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, and add the toppings! (Pesto Chicken Pizza – Cook chicken breasts with garlic, salt, pepper, rosemary, and a squeeze of lemon. Saute onions and mushrooms. Spread pesto sauce over dough, add shredded chicken and sauteed veggies, and top with fontina and mozzarella cheese.) 2. Tantalizing Tacos (click for recipe) These street-style tacos are ideal for summer evenings, and the thing about them is they satisfy just about everyone and are simple. All tacos require the same foundation and beyond that is up to the individual! 3. Notorious Nachos (recipe below) These nachos came into my life when I began watching Game of Thrones every Sunday with friends. Now, they are a necessity. Don’t forget to make fresh guacamole or another dip. You won’t regret trying this recipe! (Cook chorizo, add cumin and garlic. Chop up jalapenos, green onion, black olives (sliced). Shred cheddar and pepper jack cheese. Layer chips, cheese, chorizo, jalapenos, green onions, olives, and repeat! bake it high 425, and it works the best to dig your fingers into the nachos to create some holes for the heat to get through so all the cheese melts.) 4. Grandma’s Chicken Noodle Soup (click for recipe) There’s nothing like a huge bowl of steaming hot chicken noodle soup after a long day of skiing, snowboarding or spending time in the outdoors. If you feel a little bit under the weather, grade some ginger and turmeric into the soup for an immune booster. 5. The Cheesiest Mac of All (click for recipe) Need a heartwarming meal guaranteed to fill you up? Then this is the meal for you. Vegetarian? No problem, just leave out the ham! P.S. If you’re looking for leftovers, you’ll get plenty. SkyRun tip: Once you take this cheesy goodness out of the oven, let sit for at least 15 minutes.
