The resorts are optimistic that this storm will enable new terrain to open, which we are all eagerly anticipating! Thursday night is expected to be somewhat mellow, with accumulations around an inch earlier in the night. Cloudy conditions are expected throughout the night. Friday morning is shaping up to be a great ski day with partly cloudy conditions during the daytime. Friday night totals are expected to be around 3 inches and will continue into Saturday and Sunday with the possibility of receiving up to 11 inches through Sunday night. Snowy conditions are anticipated to hang around through the beginning of next week. We are looking forward to some amazing days of skiing and snowboarding next week! As always, we strongly recommend 4WD, AWD, snow tires or chains during the winter months in Breckenridge. December 3, 2017 @ 11:55 AM MT – Winter Storm To Dump 3-6 Inches Of Snow By Monday Evening – It looks like it might be time to finally break out your winter boots as our streak of warm weather may be coming to an end! We’ve been doing our snow dances and wearing our pajamas inside out and backwards and we are beyond excited to have snow in the forecast! Expect temperatures to drop into the mid 20’s overnight Saturday and mild conditions to start the day Sunday. Sporadic snow showers will move into the area Sunday afternoon and through the evening. The strongest portion of the storm is expected to hit overnight Sunday and into Monday morning with periods of intense snowfall. Overall accumulations from this storm are anticipated to be between 3-6 inches. Monday will be a chilly one with temperatures in the teens so make sure to throw on an extra layer before leaving the house. Cooler temperatures during the remainder of the week will enable Breckenridge Ski Resort to keep the snow-guns running around the clock and should be immensely helpful to the resort for open additional terrain. As always, we strongly recommend 4WD, AWD, snow tires, or chains during the winter months in Breckenridge. Drive safely, and get out on the mountain to enjoy some soft, fresh turns! November 18, 2017 @ 7:37 Am MT – We awoke to a spectacular blue bird day with Breckenridge reporting 12 inches of fresh snow on Saturday morning, with the majority of that falling on Friday afternoon and Friday evening. Skies are clearing and temperatures are cold Saturday morning. So get out and enjoy the slopes! The Open Snow forecast for the next week shows chances for light snow on Tuesday and next Friday/Saturday, and then perhaps a swing toward more consistent cool and snowy weather as we head into December. November 15, 2017 @ 1:00 PM MT – Don’t let today’s nice weather put a damper on your weekend ski plans! Today’s dry conditions will carry over into Thursday morning before a strong storm system moves into the area late in the day Thursday. Expect light to moderate snow on Thursday night, transitioning into heavier accumulations Friday afternoon and evening. Meteorologists are predicting strong wind gusts throughout the day Friday and into the evening. Allow extra time and distance when driving as wind gusts can greatly reduce visibility. It is important to ensure your vehicle is properly prepared for the road conditions. As always, we strongly recommend 4WD, AWD, snow tires, or chains during the winter months. Saturday morning will be a brisk one with early temperatures in the single digits. Don’t forget to throw on an extra layer before hitting the slopes for some fresh tracks! Snow totals are expected to be between 5-10 inches by the time this storm moves out of the area on Sunday.
