Husband and wife team marry their love of travel, outdoors, and all things Montana with new vacation-based venture

Whitney and Andrew Elenbaas have secured the franchise rights for SkyRun Vacation Rentals and have begun developing a portfolio of carefully curated, Montana-based properties across Whitefish, Big Fork, and Glacier National Park. The married couple, who proudly call the Big Sky State their home, look forward to providing a ‘home away from home’ for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts from around the world.

Big Sky, Big Dreams

Whitney Elenbaas has held two passions since childhood: travel and outdoor adventures. Throughout her career, the lifelong skier and journalism major, has parlayed those core passions across media (ski outlets and magazines) as well as executive leadership positions in the vacation rental management industry. But it is her latest chapter that has Whitney and Andrew truly excited: providing the rest of the world with a behind the scenes look at the true beauty and bounty of Montana.

“During college, every moment I wasn’t in class, I was either skiing down the slopes or climbing up the side of the mountain,” said Whitney. “I worked in the corporate world for more than 20 years; initially in media and later, in the tourism and hospitality industry. Prior to leaving my last executive position, I managed a territory stretching from Maine to Miami. It was challenging, but it wasn’t always rewarding. In reality, what I really wanted to do was provide vacation memories, but on a more intimate, local, level with a downhome feel.” 

In 2025, Whitney and Andrew partnered with SkyRun Vacation Rentals and secured the franchise rights for Whitefish, Big Fork, and Glacier National Park. SkyRun was created in 2004 and now manages over 1,500 vacation rental properties across the country. They will draw on their shared professional acumen and customer-service experience—along with SkyRun’s vast network of resources and best in class capabilities—to develop and manage a territory covering Big Fork, Whitefish, and Glacier National Park.

“As a child, my father traveled 300 days per year,” added Whitney. “My entire life has been defined by my love of travel and the great outdoors. At this stage in my career and life, I wanted to chase that entrepreneurial dream, but I also wanted the backing of an established, respected brand, like SkyRun. Andrew is a professional fly fisherman, so getting to live and work in Montana is truly the best of both worlds.”

The Elenbaases will have prime real estate to expand their already growing portfolio of vacation rental homes. Whitefish was named one of the “Top 25 Ski Towns In The World” by National Geographic. Big Fork is home to a bustling art scene and bucolic views of Flathead Lake. Glacier National Park covers 1 million acres, including 175 mountains, 762 lakes, and an unparalleled ambiance for outdoor enthusiasts.
