Let's Talk!

Hiking

The hiking options Colorado Springs opens to locals and guests to almost endless paths and trails to dig into. Popular hikes include trails at Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Red Rock Canyon, Palmer Park, and Royal Gorge Park. For hikers looking to elevate their heart rates, the Manitou Incline, Barr Trail, and Catamount Trails serve up breathtaking mountain views alongside breathtaking inclines. Something for everyone, the trails in Colorado Springs draw hikers for the variety of trails and 360 degree Rocky views.

Fishing

Cast off lakeside, drop a line from your boat in the river, or set off on the waters of one of the area’s reservoirs. Colorado Springs’ sheer variety of waters means the fishing stays interesting. Of course the Arkansas River remains a hot fly fishing destination where the trout are biting. Pikes Peak serves up two fishing choices–Crystal Creek Reservoir’s trout-rich waters and the South Slope Recreation Area. You can stay close to town when you drop a line at Fountain Creek in Manitou Springs. Best part? The proximity to town means that shops and restaurants make the perfect post-fishing stop.

Whitewater Rafting

May through September means the Arkansas River’s waters are primed for whitewater rafting adventures. The best part? Class II to Class V rapids let you tailor your river experience for a more family-friendly outing or a wild descent. Book a guided tour for maximum fun and safety. Beginners love Browns Canyon’s easy waters–it’s no wonder this is one of the country’s most popular rafting spots. For experienced riders, the Royal Gorge offers the challenge and stunning views of the gorge.

Kayaking and Stand-up Paddle Boarding

Paddleboard yoga? Yep. Colorado Springs has it. Grab your stand-up paddleboard and head to Prospect Lake where you can glide along the waters under the eye of Pikes Peak. Rampart Reservoir is another favorite for its clear waters and mountain vistas. For more thrills, check out tours along the Arkansas River or Fountain Creek.

Mountain Biking

Mountain bikers flock to Colorado Springs’ elevations for mountain biking that’s unlike anywhere else. Beginner, moderate, and experienced rides weave through the area–pick the right course for your outdoor adventure. Easier favorites include Black Forest Section 16 Trail and Ute Trail at Garden of the Gods. Looking for trails with higher demands? Pedal your way up and down Pikes Peak where you might be joined by elk and deer. Pancake Rocks isn’t for the novice rider. This trail’s grade and switchbacks mean business.

US Olympic and Paralympic Museum

Didn’t qualify for the games? No worries–channel your inner Olympic dreams with a visit to the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum where guided and self-guided tours take you behind the scenes of the Games and the athletes who dared to dream big. Though you might be medaling in slalom or taking gold on the ice, interactive exhibitions let you get a little bit closer to that dream.

Jeep Tours

Sure, hiking, climbing, biking, and rafting infuse your trip with a heavy dose of adventure, but sometimes it’s nice to sit back and let someone else do the driving. Jeep Tours mean all the thrills, none of the work. Sit back and fly through Colorado’s backcountry trails, all while absorbing the bumps, speeds, and beauty of the land. The perfect way to blend a little excitement with a little chill.

Rock Climbing

Not a shock that this area’s peaks make rock climbing one of the best ways to watch the sun dance over the Rockies. Garden of the Gods’ sandstone formations, Red Rock Canyon’s 13 cliffs, and North Cheyenne Cañon all let you take on higher ground. Guided climbing tours take you to the best spots. Weather not cooperating? Head inside to CityROCK Colorado Springs to get your climbing fix indoors.

Arts & Culture

Colorado Springs and nextdoor neighbor Manitou Springs are two towns on the Avenue Creative Circuit where imagination reigns. Art on the Streets brings creativity to anyone who walks Colorado Springs’ streets. Come to Colorado Springs on the First Friday of each month to stroll the galleries and take in the rich culture of the town. Catch a performance at the  Ent Center for the Arts where each season features a rotating offering of musicals, plays, and performances. Animal lovers, a morning at the

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo lets you watch penguins, bears, giraffes, and other animals, all while surrounded by Rocky Mountain panoramas. History fans flock to the

Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum to imagine what life was like more than a hundred years ago in the Pikes Peak area.

Shopping and Dining

National chains and local boutiques merge to create a shopping wonderland. Wander through Downtown Colorado Springs and taste the flavors in the spice shops, wine shops, and boutiques dotting the quaint Western town. Downtown’s eateries offer respite from marathon shopping. Savor tacos, indulge in fresh menus at gastropubs, or order your steak to the perfect doneness. International flavors like Mediterranean and Mexican meet American favorites like burgers and BBQ. Looking for an upscale evening? Colorado Springs has restaurants to elevate your dining experience.

Spas and Wellness

Visitors and locals rave about Colorado Springs’s spa and wellness scene. Both resort and day spas offer the full scale of body treatments aimed at promoting total wellness and relaxation. Book a boutique spa for a smaller-scale day of pampering or check out one of the area’s larger resorts for a total immersive experience.

Mineral Springs

The mineral springs in adjacent Manitou Springs run in an underground maze of aquifers that treat locals and visitors to a taste of Colorado—literally. Start at the Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau for a map of the springs to choose your soak and cup then taste your way through the town’s eight distinct springs. Carbonic acid forms in the water when the water breaks down the limestone, so come and get a taste of nature’s seltzer.

Pikes Peak

When you stand in the shadow or scale the face of Pikes Peak, you’ll understand why this mountain inspired the song “America the Beautiful”. Today, the peak’s beauty appeals to visitors who want to conquer its 14,115 feet. Hikers, choose between Crags or Barr Trails. Barr’s hike clocks in at 13 miles one way and is a rigorous route. Barr Camp is 6.5 miles from the trailhead and many hikers choose to split up the hike with an overnight stay here. Crags trail is also 13 miles but has an easier ascent. Bonus: it’s not as crowded and hikers get stunning Continental Divide views as their reward. Bikers, you, too, can scale the mountain on paved but challenging trails. For a more leisurely way to scale the mountain, ride up by car, by tour, or in the  Broadmoor Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway–let the wheels do the work!

Broadmoor Seven Falls

Bridal Veil, Feather, Hill, Hull, Ramona, Shorty, and Weimer–which fall will capture your heart? These seven soaring waterfalls make this a Colorado Springs must-see. Climb 224 steps to gaze down at the falls or set up base at Eagle’s Nest viewing platform. Hike around the falls and let the sprays cool you off. Hungry? Stop at the falls’ restaurant to fill empty stomachs and recount your adventures. The falls closes for winter, and make sure to check conditions before heading out.

Cave of the Winds

Choose your Cave of the Winds adventure when you pick either the Discovery or Haunted Lantern Tours. Either way, you’ll uncover millions of years of geological history embedded in the Rocky Mountains. After you dig deep into the cave’s workings, soar high about with the Pioneer Package featuring a zipline, ropes course, and other extreme challenges. And if you’re feeling extra brave, don’t miss the Terror-dactyl, which launches you 150 feet over the canyon topping out at speeds clocking in at almost 100 mph.

Garden of the Gods Park

Red rock formations jut out of the Earth, rimmed by junipers, grasslands, and forests. This geological wonder lets visitors pick their exploration mode: hiking, biking, touring on a Segway, scaling the rocky faces, or even by horse. Self-guided audio tours help you explore the park at your own pace. Bonus tip: visit the park’s website where you can set your visit’s goals and have a planned itinerary sent to you for told exploration ease. Bonus tip two! Make sure to have your camera ready for a photo snapped in front of Kissing Camels, a popular rock formation that’s the backdrop of many Insta-worthy pics.

Manitou Springs

Come soak away your cares in Manitou Springs where natural mineral springs are purported to heal body and soul. Adventure awaits just steps from the town center. Manitou Springs serves as a gateway to outdoor exploration, with hiking trails, including the iconic Manitou Incline, winding through the mountains. For a panoramic view of the region, take the cog railway to the summit of Pikes Peak, where the majesty of the Rockies unfolds before your eyes. Sitting next door to Colorado Springs, a Manitou Springs stay means you can explore the wonders of this town and still be close to the action.

Woodland Park

Woodland Park, the “City Above the Clouds,” rewards locals and visitors with  panoramic views of Pikes Peak and surrounding mountains. Pristine mountain air, stunning landscapes, and small-town charm—all just a short and scenic drive from Colorado Springs. This hidden gem is a nature lover’s paradise. Explore nearby hiking and biking trails winding through the lush forests, or cast a line for trout into crystalline mountain streams. In winter, a snowy wonderland emerges to create a cross-country skiing and snowshoeing playground. Whether you seek a peaceful weekend getaway or a base for outdoor adventures, Woodland Park invites tourists to experience the tranquility and natural wonders that define the Colorado mountain lifestyle.

Property Damage Waiver

Enjoy peace-of-mind with our incidental damage protection.

SkyRun includes a property damage protection waiver on each reservation. The damage waiver covers damage to the property up to $1,500 so long as the damage is accidental and reported to SkyRun prior to your departure.  It does not cover damage that is willful, the result of negligence, or damaged caused by the misuse of household items.  It also doesn’t cover unreported damage.  SkyRun doesn’t charge our guests a refundable damage deposit in lieu of the waiver. Unlike a refundable damage deposit, the damage protection waiver is non-refundable.

If during your rental of our property, you damage the real or personal property assigned to that property, SkyRun will cover the cost of repairs or the cost to replace the property up to an amount not to exceed $1,500. Should the cost of the damage exceed $1,500 or does not meet the criteria for a “covered loss”, and the property owner’s insurance policy also does not cover the loss, then you shall be responsible for the full amount of the damage which will be charged to the credit card on file. Coverage is provided to you and all travelling companions that are staying in the home overnight during your stay.

Coverage is not provided for loss due to:

  • Your intentional acts or gross negligence.
  • Any damage that occurs if you are in violation of the terms and conditions (including but not limited to having more than maximum occupancy or having a party).
  • Loss, theft or damage to any personal effects owned by you or brought on the covered stay by you.
  • Loss, theft or damage caused by any person other than you or your traveling companions with whom you share the property reservation unless substantiated by a police report.

Colorado Springs Frequently Asked Questions

SkyRun provides photos, virtual tours, maps, amenity details and reviews about the property you will be renting. Our staff has first-hand knowledge of each property, so don't hesitate to call us if you have any questions.

Our rentals come fully furnished including TVs, high-speed internet, linens and towels, a microwave, dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen essentials.  We sweat the details and provide supplies like shampoo, conditioner, tissues, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, soaps, trash bags, etc.  We provide everything you expect from a fine hotel, and then some. Refer to individual listings to see more amenity information, and please contact us directly if you still have questions.

When you book direct with SkyRun you avoid paying service fees that traditional listing sites like Airbnb and Vrbo charge. Our prices are also competitive with rent-from-owner rates, but we offer professional service, optional travel insurance, and immediate on-site assistance should the need arise.  In addition, we offer exclusive discounts from local businesses, available only to SkyRun guests.  SkyRun can help you plan and save on your entire vacation experience, not only the rental itself.  We also offer a fantastic value on lodging booked within 30 - 60 days of arrival with our dynamically adjusted rates.

Travel insurance is an optional addition to your total rental charges. It is offered on our reservation form at the time of booking. It is also usually offered at the time of booking when you booked with a 3rd party booking site. You can also add travel insurance onto your reservation within 48 hours of booking with SkyRun. The cost of travel insurance varies and is usually between 7% - 9.5% of your total reservation cost depending on the coverage type.  If you do not have travel insurance, you can not cancel your reservation for any reason.  If you have travel insurance and need to cancel or make a claim refer to your specific policy. More information about the travel insurance policies SkyRun offers can be found here.

You can rent any of our properties by booking directly on this website using a credit card or you can call to book a reservation if you would like to speak with a vacation planner. When you book, 1/3 of your total reservation cost or a minimum of $300 is charged as a non-refundable deposit to secure your rental. 30 days before your arrival, the remaining amount is due and becomes non-refundable if you need to cancel for any reason (see travel insurance above for exceptions).  At this time, the credit card we have on file will be automatically charged for the balance.

For most properties, SkyRun utilizes a convenient keypad lock system which allows you to enter your vacation rental using a personalized access code, as opposed to having to pick up a key and worrying about keeping track of it during your stay. This also saves you the trouble of coming to a check-in center beforehand. Your welcome packet will be in your rental upon arrival, and our staff is always only a phone call away if any questions arise.

No smoking and no pets (unless specifically designated as a pet-friendly property) are allowed in the rentals.  House parties and exceeding the maximum occupancy at any time are prohibited. As in your own home, renters are of course subject to citations for noise violations, etc, handed down by public officials. Remember you are staying as a guest in someone's home, where much investment has been made to make your stay enjoyable; please treat all private property with the respect it deserves.
