Areas to Explore Things to Do Check-In Instructions Property Damage Waiver Travel Insurance Bass LakeHead a little south of Yosemite to bask in the cool waters of Bass Lake. This hotspot draws in kayakers, tubers, jet skiers, and almost any water-based adventure you can dream up. Bass, trout, and salmon call these waters home, making this an ideal spot to cast a line. Leaf peep in the fall, strap on the snowshoes for a winter hike, or let spring’s warming temps fuel the area’s waterfalls. Mammoth MountainFly down the faces of Mammoth Mountain where skiers and snowboarders shred down the resort’s 11,053 feet of trails or 3,500 acres of terrain. Ditch the slopes and head out of Tamarack Cross-Country Ski Center’s trails for a calmer way to workout in splendor then warm up when you sip hot chocolate fireside, Badger Pass Ski AreaStay inside Yosemite National Park and still get your ski and snowboard fix. Badge Pass’ 10 runs serve up fun for all levels of skiing and 90 miles of marked trails delight cross-country skiers. Even non-skiers can explore this winter playground with tubing adventures catering to the younger crowd. HikingChoose your hiking adventure in Yosemite. Feeling like an easy stroll? Take your walk waterside along Mirror Lake Trail or Lower Yosemite Falls Trail: where you can hike to the base country’s highest waterfall. The ultimate challenge has to be Half Dome where the last stretch requires cables to get you up the 4,800-foot elevation. Easy or hard, or something in between, Yosemite and the surrounding areas let you carve your own path. Gold Rush Comes AliveFeeling lucky? The hills near Yosemite lured speculators with its promise of gold and while you probably won’t leave a gold barron, you will go home with educational riches after visiting the California State Mining & Mineral Museum where you can see the Fricot Nugget weighing in at almost 14 pounds of pure gold. History buffs, turn the calendar back when you tour Fresno Flats Historic Village & Park where pioneer homes and businesses are preserved for today’s visitors. Another monument to the Gold Rush era is the recreated pioneer town at the Pioneer Yosemite History Center where visitors can walk the ground and explore structures from almost 200 years ago. GolfingThe Sierra Nevadas make for a stunning backdrop as you tee off at one of the courses near Yosemite. Stay inside the park and book a tee time at Wawona Golf Course and enjoy the 9-hole course nestled in the pines and mountain peaks. Venture south to test out River Creek Golf Course or head west of the park to Pine Mountain Lake Golf Course. No matter which part of the park you find yourself, options abound to test your skill and level up play. Arts & CulturePioneers came for gold, but some of the region’s real wealth stems from the abundance of museums and art galleries around Yosemite. No artist is as synonymous with these mountains as Ansel Adams and The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite Valley pays tribute to his iconic photography. Explore the area’s indigenous history at the Yosemite Museum & Indian and head to Mariposa to soak in the town’s creativity at galleries showcasing local artist’s works. BikingPedal along Yosemite Valley’s 12 miles of flat trails and spy iconic sites like El Capitan, Half Dome, and Yosemite Falls. Dirt bikers, head to the park’s one authorized trail, the Wawona Meadow Loop, for amped-up rides. Good news for e-bike fans–you can ride on any of the park’s designated trails. Head out of the park to traverse the Sierra National Forest’s terrain and check out the Exchequer Mountain Bike Park where there’s a ride for all levels. Rock ClimbingNo sport connects to Yosemite more than rock climbing. Ever since 1958 saw the first intrepid climber ascend El Capitan’s nose, climbers have flocked to Yosemite for unparalleled climbing. Climb for a day or commit to a multi-day trek of Half Dome, Tuolumne Meadows, and El Capitan. Smaller faces like Swan Slabs and Manure Pile Buttress make for a less demanding experience (but just as thrilling). Boating and FishingWander off the beaten trail, literally. The best fishing in Yosemite means heading off trail and toward the park’s fishing hub. Every fishing hole has its positives, but the Tuolumne River is the standout with multiple trout varieties. Check out the river’s Lyell Fork for stream fishing and scenery that looks like it’s plucked out of an Ansel Adams image. The Merced River is another fishing haven for trout, but check regulations to follow California’s fishing rules. Lake lovers flock to the High Sierra Lakes to cast a line in the hundreds of lakes and streams carving through this western wonderland. Horseback RidingGallop on one of Yosemite’s trails or take a trail ride outside for a memorable way to explore the valley. Local stables offer tours to connect you with the land as pioneers did more than 150 years ago. White Water RaftingWaters roar on the Merced River and when you battle its rapids, you can roar with pride after battling spring’s Class IV rapids. Since these rivers depend on snowmelt horsepower, the weather determines how fast the waters flow, but summer riders generally encounter mellower waters. The Tuolumne River’s waters do not play: here you’ll find anything from Class IV to V+. These waters welcome only the most seasoned riders with the dam releases and snowmelt upping the intensity. Property Damage Waiver Enjoy peace-of-mind with our incidental damage protection. SkyRun includes a property damage protection waiver on each reservation. The damage waiver covers damage to the property up to $1,500 so long as the damage is accidental and reported to SkyRun prior to your departure. It does not cover damage that is willful, the result of negligence, or damaged caused by the misuse of household items. It also doesn’t cover unreported damage. SkyRun doesn’t charge our guests a refundable damage deposit in lieu of the waiver. Unlike a refundable damage deposit, the damage protection waiver is nonrefundable. Should the cost of the damage exceed $1,500 or does not meet the criteria for a “covered loss”, and the property owner’s insurance policy also does not cover the loss, then you shall be responsible for the full amount of the damage which will be charged to the credit card on file. Coverage is provided to you and all travelling companions that are staying in the home overnight during your stay. Coverage is not provided for loss due to: Your intentional acts or gross negligence. Any damage that occurs if you are in violation of the terms and conditions (including but not limited to having more than maximum occupancy or having a party). How does travel insurance work? Travel insurance is an optional addition to your total rental charges. It is offered on our reservation form at the time of booking. It is also usually offered at the time of booking when you booked with a 3rd party booking site. You can also add travel insurance onto your reservation within 48 hours of booking with SkyRun. The cost of travel insurance varies and is usually between 7% - 9.5% of your total reservation cost depending on the coverage type. You can rent any of our properties by booking directly on this website using a credit card or you can call to book a reservation if you would like to speak with a vacation planner. When you book, 1/3 of your total reservation cost or a minimum of $300 is charged as a non-refundable deposit to secure your rental. 30 days before your arrival, the remaining amount is due and becomes non-refundable if you need to cancel for any reason (see travel insurance above for exceptions). At this time, the credit card we have on file will be automatically charged for the balance. What are the house rules? You must be 25 years old to rent. No smoking and no pets (unless specifically designated as pet-friendly) are allowed in the rentals. No parties where more than the number of people the property sleeps are allowed in the rental at any time.
