Breckenridge Ski Resort Opens For The 2017/18 Season!

Ski season has officially arrived in Breckenridge! Hundreds of excited skiers and snowboarders anxiously waited for the Colorado Superchair Lift to begin turning this morning, eager to get those first turns of the season under their belts. Skiers were greeted by a plethora of opening day activities including giant gooey cinnamon rolls, free t-shirts launched into the crowd from a cannon, smiles and high-fives from resort employees, and of course, smooth turns from the top of Peak 8 all the way to the base.

As part of the first chair ceremony, a group of veterans were honored by Breckenridge Ski Resort’s Chief Operating Officer John Buhler, prior to the group boarding chair No. 1 to officially mark the start of the 2017-2018 ski season. John, along with his entire staff at Breck Ski Resort worked tirelessly over the summer to build on and improve upon an incredible 16-17 season! Here are a few new additions and upgrades guests will be treated to this season:

Candy Corner at Ten Mile Station- Ten Mile Station has long been the go-to spot for lunch, to grab a drink, or even to catch some rays on the patio on a perfect bluebird day. You can now go ahead and add the new Candy Corner to your list of reasons to swing by Ten Mile Station during your epic day on the mountain. Featuring a historic theme and seemingly endless bulk candy, the Candy Corner is guaranteed to keep your sugar buzz going all day long! Ten Mile Station is located on Peak 9, next to the top of the Quicksilver Lift. As in years past, the Ten Mile Station food court will be open daily for lunch from 10:30 AM 2:30 PM.

Pioneer Crossing Restaurant- With the opening of Pioneer Crossing last season, guests were treated to an upscale dining experience while enjoying the breathtaking views of colorful Colorado out giant floor to ceiling windows. Skiers and boarders can now fuel up in the mornings at the brand new Crepes Station. Pioneer Crossing is located on Peak 7 and will be serving delicious made-to-order crepes daily from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM.   And don’t worry; just like last season, The Pioneer Crossing food court will continue to serve tasty lunch dishes from 10:30 AM 3:00 PM.

New And Improved Falcon Superchair- Peak 10, a favorite among many Breckenridge locals, has previously had its skier volume somewhat throttled by only being accessible via the 4 person Falcon Superchair Chairlift. Skiers and snowboarders chasing advanced terrain and untouched lines through deep powder will be excited to find that the Falcon Superchair has been upgraded to now seat 6, increasing uphill skier capacity and allowing skiers and boarders to squeeze even more fun into their days!
