The second bedroom features a Queen bed, a dresser, and a hardwood floor. While this room does not have a closet, there are hooks on the wall as you enter the bedroom and a convenient luggage rack. A full-size bathroom, with a tub/shower combo and a large mirror over the sink, sits behind the family room across from the second bedroom.There is not a washer or dryer in the cabin, but a laundromat is nearby. This cozy getaway cabin is the perfect cozy basecamp, very close to Rocky Mountain National Park and downtown Estes Park along with its many activities and restaurants. K Stayed Oct, 2024 Return Customer This is my third time staying at the Bluejay in the past 5 years. It has the perfect amount of charm along with practicality that make it ideal. Once again, I had deer in the front of the cabin. It’s super quiet… I never hear another person or car. And one of the biggest perks is that it is so close to the park entrance. I think it took me three minutes to get to the gate. Great for those who want to hike early. Love the changes to the flooring & kitchen cabinets …..& the electric fireplace. Not sure how the heat in winter is, the curtains come down and touch the floor board heaters and I wouldnt feel comfortable using them if it was really cold. Nikitaslp Stayed Aug, 2024 Cozy cabin My husband and I stayed at the Blur Jay Bungalow in August for a week and loved every minute of it! The cabin was a perfect size for us and the furniture was so comfy (especially the King size bed in the master bedroom). The views from every window were just breathtaking and I got to see so many new birds that we don't have near me. We also had visits from Mule deer, chipmunks, ground squirrels and I even caught a glimpse of an American pika! Any time I emailed with questions, I received a quick and helpful response. Matt &Amp; Anna Stayed Jul, 2024 Review We really loved this cabin! Check-in was easy, it was very clean and tidy, and it was a cozy place to stay for our family of 6. Accurate to the description and pictures. Our kids enjoyed playing on the rocks behind the house. Beautiful location and quick access to RMNP. The only two downsides were the queen bed box springs/slats were apparently broken leading to a fairly uncomfortable bed. I did contact the host and they were responsive and sent out maintenance to check about it, which I did appreciate, but were unable to repair for our visit. The refrigerator was also somewhat unreliable, freezing several items of our food, despite trying to adjust the temperature. However, despite those two things we really did enjoy our stay and we would stay here again. Host's response: Thank you for the feedback we will get the maintenance back out there to address the bed issue. - with these new fridges they have to stay around 3 setting for it to work correctly. I went to this home after reading your review. While not new, the bathroom is clean and well kept and the vanity is not broken. The caulking along the bottom of the tub needs to be replaced. I will have maintenance take care of that when there is enough time between guests. I will also have them check the squealing noise you heard when the water is turned on. This cute little cabin nestled among the trees in one of Estes Parks established neighborhoods is one of my favorites. You can sit on the deck in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the sun come up on Longs Peak or read a book on the screened in porch. It is genuinely a five minute drive to get into the park, making it easy to skirt park traffic. The price would have been a bit more reasonable had we stayed for a week, but the cost per day ended up being bit high having only stayed three nights. However, having a quiet, private space so close to the park was worth paying a bit extra. Watch out for that cleaning fee. For the amount they charged I wouldve hoped the place was spotless, but the coffee table hadnt been wiped down and had dirt and some sort of sticky sauce on it. Normally I wouldnt think much of it, because spots get missed, but for $309 cleaning fee I felt the need to bring it up. Strict check-in/out policy (4pm in / 10am out). The cleaning fee and the inflexibility of check out made this experience pretty impersonal, but I enjoyed my stay overall. Stayed Jul, 2022 Small Cabin tucked away in the mountains The cabin was clean and served its purpose. It did not have TVs in the bedrooms but we really only used it for a place to rest our heads. Our kids used our iPad at night to wind down in the bedroom. Its located at the end of a road away from town and offers a little bit of privacy. It was nice that they had fans in the closet for night time to pull in some fresh air. Beds were comfortable. Only negatives was there is not a washer and dryer on site. We typically stay at bigger cabins where we wash clothes before our next adventure location. This was owned by a property group and they have washer and dryers in their main location off-site. It also would have been nice to have a light out front for unloading the vehicle. Bring a flashlight so you can see in your car. There is a front porch light for the screened in porch which offers a little light. Internet service worked great for uploading photos of our journey. We saw one elk on property early morning. When we leave a property, we make sure we clean it up and leave it the way we found it. Host's response: You are the perfect guests!! One thing to note is during our stay there is no recliner as pictured (we were disappointed bc my dad needs a recliner to sleep due to reflux), and the pullout couch is slanted when it pulls into a bed (my kids slept on it ok but it was not ideal). Youre practically inside Rocky Mountain National Park and the cabin itself is surrounded by rocks and woods. We saw deer and other wildlife every day from our kitchen window! The cabin has two beautiful bedrooms, a full kitchen, a grill, and a private deck. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!! Everything was clean and fresh smelling, the property looked to be maintained. Great location, easy short drive to RMNP, shopping and restaurants. The area of the cabin appeared to be mixed with other cabin rentals and some permanent residents. It was a nice quiet area. We started our trip in another part of CO. and ended with a few night in Estes. We could have deffinately handled a longer stay at the Blue Jay!I had expressed we were celebrating our 30th Anniversary. It would have been a nice gesture if a card and/or bottle of champagne was left in our cabin for us upon arrival. Maybe I'm used to hotel service when it comes to that sort of thing. Stayed Feb, 2020 Perfect little cabin with immediate access to RMNP You get exactly what you see in the VRBO listing with this cute little cabin. I wanted a no frills, quite base for a long weekend of hiking, reading and exploring Estes. This cabin was perfect for that. The only drawback was that it was extremely cold and the fireplace wasn't operable (which they disclosed ahead of time), and I didn't anticipate just how cold that would make the caibin. The heat system couldn't keep up with the cold. However, there were lots of cozy blankets and a really nice space heater, so it was manageable. The views from the cabin are spectacular, especially with the morning sun first hitting the peaks. And it is literally less than a 5 minute drive from the cabin to the RMNP entrance. And, 10 minutes or less to downtown Estes. I can't say enough good things about the location!Also, the cabin was stocked with all the basic utensils needed to cook while I was there. A suggestion for the future would be to stock more spices/pantry staples. One additional thought - this cabin location and amenities would be perfect for a lowkey summer getaway. Stayed Oct, 2019 Beautiful scenery The property was beautiful inside and out. Very clean, perfect amount of space for our family of 5. The beds were very very soft and they had extra warm blankets in the closet. The rooms had space heaters for the cold night. The bathroom gets cool as well but there is a nice heated lamp over the shower to warm it up. Showers need to be quick or you will run out of warm water. The main space has a nice large heater to keep it warm. Nice cozy couch and nice small dining table for games and lunch. Unfortunately, we visited at the time of record breaking heat, which was no fault of the cabin, but this did make the no ac aspect a little tough (especially for a real pregnant mama). Robert Stayed Jul, 2019 Review The cabin is in a quiet part of Estes Park with some fabulous views. It was very comfy, well-kept, neat, but not flashy. We liked that it was a quick drive to the Park and there was a screen porch that was perfect for reading and lounging after a long day of hiking. It is a tad tricky to find, but there are not that many lanes, so after one quick wrong-way we quickly found the place. After settling in we were rewarded with two coyotes loping across the back yard, just under the views up the valley. It was a lovely moment. Even though the listing said the property was "dated", everything was in great shape and super clean. The instructions we got ahead of time were everything we needed to know and the checkout list was pretty short and reasonable. We loved the location and will stay here again the next time we want to come to Estes Park! We stayed here during the winter and there was a pretty good snow storm with bitter cold temps. The cabin stayed pretty cool (60-65 degrees). But space heaters were provided and we loved cuddling under blankets and watching the snow. Lots of windows and natural light.
